What kind of bag to bring?

I know this subject had kind of been beaten to death before, but I'm looking for suggestions as to what kind of bag to carry with me to the parks?

In the past, I used a fanny pack () but DH will officially disown me if I even think of wearing something like that. I'll admit I'm appalled when I look at my old WDW pics too, so the fanny pack is definitely out this time. lol

I'm also kind of weird about backpacks, because I generally wear tank tops and halter tops, and I hate the strange tan lines from a backpack.

It seems like a handbag would be a pain, but I can't think of what else to bring?

Re: What kind of bag to bring?

I bought this bag last year from Ebags for our Disney trip and it works great. Not too big, not to small, and holds a lot of stuff, including camera, water, small umbrella, etc. It has compartments so it easy to organize everything. It comes in a several different color choices too.

Re: What kind of bag to bring?

just bring a bag that carries things you really need for your day out. Nothing huge....I always get stuck behind the person with the bag bigger than the equator with 3000 pockets and zips which takes the security guy goodness knows how long to check through! I know some families, for whatever reason, medical supplies etc etc have to bring a few more things than your average joe but I only bring a bag with one way in and out that carries my camera, wallet, a water bottle and sun lotion for my family.

Re: What kind of bag to bring?

I would sugguest one of those string nylon backbacks. The strings are so small and mine seem to really hang down low so I don't think the lines would really be much. I'm always moving mine to by something or taking it off for a ride that it does not stay in the same place very long.

Re: What kind of bag to bring?

I brought a small, square messenger bag. It was comapct, light and fit all my park essentials without weighing me down.

I have an insulated cooler tote bag that would be the perfect solution for you. It doesn't look at all like a cooler-it just looks like a cute tote bag, but inside it has that cooler reflective material, and we just put ice or those frozen packs in and it keeps stuff cool forever. I don't know if you can buy these, though, because I got mine for subscribing to a magazine. Maybe you could google cooler tote bag or something.

Re: What kind of bag to bring?

I was thinking the same thing, dizzy!! How I needed a new suggestion for a park bag but that the subject has been beaten to death. Oh well, here we go! I usually carry the nylon drawstring bag (I have the one from space mountain), but I think I'm gonna try to get away with NO BAG this trip. Anyone care to hedge their bets? ;)

Re: What kind of bag to bring?

If you are packing light, you should be able to get away without a bag. I like to wear cargo shorts when I go without a bag. That way I can still hold my cell phone and camera comfortably, but not be tied down with a bag.

The rest of the time, I use my messenger bag. It works perfectly, but can leave funny tan lines sometimes.

I love these backpacks too, Julie. They are light and easy to use.

Re: What kind of bag to bring?

I have a suggestion.... You can wear a wristlet it goes right around your wrist its small & convenient.... and their not that expensive the cheapest would be like $10 at walmart.... you can also get a few sizes in them depending what you want to put in it!

I have to be hands-free!! Messenger bag or pockets, that's it. I usually always have a small messenger bag slung around me though.

Re: What kind of bag to bring?

Last trip we took a Camelback backpack. It's a small, narrow backpack that usually holds a bag of water and then has a long tube that you drink through. We removed the bag for the water and the tube and ended up with a nice compact backpack that was big enough for the camera (which is not that small), video camera, sunscreen, bottle of water and emergency snacks.

It worked perfectly for us.

Re: What kind of bag to bring?

I recently got a Baggalinni Messenger bag. It is ADORABLE!!!! I got it in pink...so DH obviously will not be caught dead with it!!! But it's the perfect size. That is what I will be using in August.

Oh, if anyone is interested in those drawstring bags, I found a site (and ordered from them before) that has them with Disney characters! I used them last trip for the kids and filled them with goodies! They even personalize them!

Re: What kind of bag to bring?

I love the look of Vera Bradley....my sister takes the VB HIPSTER, I take the VB AMY, nice long, over the shoulder strap, kinda 'florida' looking! My sister feels the Hipster has enough room for her with 2 children. And I like the small size of the Amy. I travel with just my husband, and it is just the size for my camera, some cash, and passes. VB also carries many other styles, including a MESSENGER.
