Monorail Question

We are doing breakfast at Chef Mickey's on the day that we are doing Epcot. Could we park at Epcot (before they open) and monorail over to the Contemporary for breakfast? Or does Epcot have to be open before we could ride the monorail?

We are staying at POFQ and will probably be driving into the parks each day (in case a few of us need to leave with the kids).

Re: Monorail Question

What you could do is park at the Transportation and ticket center and then Monorail it over to the Contemporary for your Chef Micky character breakfast. After the breakfast you can go back to the Transportation and Ticket Center and hop to the Epcot Monorail.

Is there a parking fee if you park at another Disney Resort?

No but you will only be able to leave your car there for 3 hours. You will get a parking pass with the time on it when you arrive. If you leave it there longer you risk being towed.

Re: Monorail Question

You can do what you were thinking of - parking the car at Epcot - both the parking lots and the monorail will be open before the parks. (I guess it depends on how early your reservation at CM's is). We've done this a couple of times. Then we spend the morning at the MK, take the monorail back to Epcot for the afternoon or evening - and there's your car, waiting for you. (Usually in the first couple of rows).

Re: Monorail Question

I thought i had read someone say that the lots don't necessarily open as early as you might want them to (and they had to wait for it to open). I don't know tho - just something to think about! i swear i had read it in a trip report recently, maybe i can find it later!

Is there a special reason you need your car available if someone needs to leave the park with a kid? It may be easier if you just take a bus, even if just for the day you are talking about. You can catch a MK bus from POFQ and just request they drop you off at the Contemporary. That works out well, and you get dropped off at the front door, without having to worry about where you parked. Just a thought.

FW is a little more lenient about this rule as they have a pretty large lot.

Re: Monorail Question

You should really just drive to the contemporary and then drive over to epcot when you are done. I think this will save you time. Going all the way to epcot, parking, getting in line for the monorail, taking the monorail to the TTC, switching to the resort monorail and finally arriving at the contemporary can and will possibly take you over an hour to do...both ways. Why waste the time? If you just drive to both, you will be there super fast.
