What ride to you go to when you first arrive at WDW?

When I return to the most magical place in all the world this June, I know I will head straight to Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom to ride Space Mountain. This has become a ritual for me and my family. Our vacation doesn't officially start until we get that first ride under our belt.

I was woundering if anyone else has a ride they must ride first when they arrive at WDW?

Actually, the first thing we do is have lunch at Beaches 'n Cream! We arrive around noon, check-in and then head to the Beach Club for lunch!

When we do go to the parks, the attraction we hit first depends on the time of day we get there.

Rides? You mean there are rides in WDW???? My wife just told me there are only shops there!!!!!!! We head right for the stores, in particular the Christmas Shoppe!

Only kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SM and TMR are usually the first stops after Liberty Tree Inn. I think this year though we are going to go the resort and head over for the DVC because we plan on buying in this year. Then we'll maybe head back to the Poly or the MK but we're eating at Ohana's the first night this time instead of Liberty Tree.

I read this post to my kids, and the first thing out of there mouth for this trip was "Haunted Mansion!!!!!"

I guess that will be our first ride this trip. We usually start with Buzz Lightyears Spin (after we get Fast Passes for SM!!)

We always start our first day in the Magic Kingdom. I don't think the trip would be the same if we started it anywhere else....

Too funny Mattomouseman....
Sounds like your wife and I have a lot in common. I LOVE  the Christmas Shoppe:love: too... Hubby and boys usually take in a ride (or two) while I'm in there.

I would have to say that we usually hit Buzz Lightyear first, but we hardly ever do the same thing twice. TMR is a definite as well as SM.

We are definitely on our countdown around here!!!

Just a FYI for those who love the Christmas Shoppe in MGM...its doors are closed. They have moved the Christmas things down to the Sunset Blvd Shops.

The one thing we always do first at Magic Kingdom or Disneyland is one round-trip ride on the Disney Railroad.

depending on the resort .. the bus or monorail *grin* dont those count !!!!

mostly we just head to the back of what ever park we are going to on that first day. And the park we go to on the first day always depends on the day of the week .. because of EE. Of course when the girls were little .. fantasyland and Dumbo were the first stop .. I was so happy when they put that cover up over the line at Dumbo !!!!!!!!

Well, it depends on which park we go to first, and that depends on the day we arrive at WDW.

If we go to Epcot, we always ride Test Track first. Of course, with the imminent opening of Mission Space, that may change.

At MGM, we always ride RnR 1st, then grab a FP, then ride ToT, then grab a FP, then RnR again, and so on, until the return times to ride those two become such that we go see the rest of the park...lol!

At AK, we always ride Dinosaur 1st. We have never attended an Extra Magic Hour there, so I don't know what we would do 1st if we did... probably Kilomanjaro Safaris.

At MK, it depends on whether it is an Extra Magic Hour Day or not. If it is, we go straight to Fantasyland and ride Dumbo, closely followed by Pooh. Not that we have very young kids, it is just the nostalgia of the whole thing. Before kids, we headed straight for Space Mountain. Now we grab a FP and come back to it later.

If we aren't doing Extra Magic Hour, then we head to Frontierland and ride either Splash Mountain or Big Thunder, grabbing the FP for whichever we aren't riding 1st.

MK = Jungle Cruise before the lines get long

MGM = ToT or RnR either will work!

EPCOT = Test Track

AK = Countdown to Extinction err Dinosaur

Breakfast at the Castle, then DD had to ride IASW first....then we headed straight to HM which she hated, so that probably won't be the plan the next time. We'll probably try to get the ones like Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh done pretty quickly, we stayed in lines hours for those two last trip because FP were all out, and we just had to ride them. I don't know if that's usual or not.

At Epcot it's Space Ship Earth, I love that and it's DD favorite.

At MGM, we seem to always mess up here, we never time things right. The ToT was long long lines, and I was a bit afraid to try it, so we ended up going over to Beauty and the Beast, which wasn't preforming that day, so we tried for Little Mermaid, waited a while, then went to the Great Movie Ride. I definately need tips on how to do this park. We backtracked so much it was awful. Which reminds me, is there a thread of a plan for each park, that saves you the most time?

At AK, went straight for Kilimanjaro Safaris, rode it twice in a row.

I realize, I need to plan better
