No More Mgm?!

Okay, I know that talk has been going on for a long time now, but what is the deal with the drama at the Disney MGM Studios!? From I have been hearing is that MGM has cancelled their contract with Disney and now PIXAR is taking over. Then I heard something about getting rid off all the rides that are connected to MGM (The Great Movie Ride

, Backlot Tour,

NO!!!!!!!!) and their are adding a PIXAR section to the park, starting with a new TOY STORY attraction. I heard a hundred other stories. Now I'm confused! WHAT IS GOING ON!!!!!????? Does anyone have a clear understanding about what is going on

I have heard this story go back and fourth so many times. I think disney and mgm have gone there own ways or will eventually but I think the rides will not shut down, if anything it will be a long drawn out time. Once it is decided the rides will either be updated or replced which could be years.

As for Pixar I have heard rumors for years about the name being changed and have not heard or seen any real proof.

I couldn't imagine MGM without some of those rides. I think it would be bad for Pixar to remove any of the main attraction in the park...........

I would love to see all kinds of new stuff there, and I like all the rumors. But I hope nothing has to leave... TGMR is a family tradition!!!

I agree with you, I would really like to see new things without them needing to take away some of our favorites such as TGMR.

What I understand is that the partnership between MGM and Disney has ended, and that MGM will be replaced by Pixar. I have heard that the Backlot Tour will be replaced by a Pixar section, and that ToyStorymania is the beginning of that(that is a rumour). i haven't heard anything about The Great Movie Ride going away, and it would greatly surprise me if it does.

I love the Backlot Tour. I would hope they wouldn't remove it. Change it up from time to time and add new things would be nice, but remove it entirely....I would be sincerely bummed!

I'm all for them adding to MGM, the park really does need more rides. I just hope they leave the ones there that they already have.

I would really suprise if they got rid of either of those rides. They both have been there since the park has been there. I am all for change but not removing those rides. Maybe they should just updated them.

I love some of the Pixar productions and would love to see them come into MGM...so many options for making the park far bigger than what it already is. Would love to see more wild rides come in for the adults and big kids and some small ones for the little ones. When we went my DD was bored out of her mind because there just wasn't anything for her. We gave her special perks like taking her for icecream while my other kids and DH were on the big rides so she still made out!

i thought it was being renamed/ or just called only disney studios, and there just wasn't going to be any MGM mention in the name. this would make it more generic like tht mice age site had said,
