I just received this via email:

Disney World Ticket Prices Go UP This Sunday !
Walt Disney World ticket prices will be going up on Sunday, August 5.
Single-day tickets are going from $71.36 to $75.62 (including tax).

On multi-day tickets, the gate price increase averages $10 per ticket.

Anyone else receive this too? I'm curious if this affects the AP prices too, but can't find any additional information on the sites I've searched. Any info is greatly appreciated. We may be buying our tix sooner than we anticipated!

Yup, just got my Mouse Savers update e-mail. This does not make me a happy camper. We need to renew APs in Nov.

AGF...Let us know what you find out when you call Disney tomorrow. Hopefully the AP's don't go up too much.

I got the email too. . .wonder if it makes sense for us to purchase tickets early or wait until they publish the package rates and deals. We are going in early Feb 2008 and looks like historically they run deals.

Anyone know if I can "cash" in the tickets towards the package?

Well, the news just seems to get better and better.

We'll be putting in a call to Disney today. Both DDs need their passes renewed. Did it mention DVC passes?

I was thinking the same thing. They posted high profits, and, now they are increasing ticket prices? Hmmmm.....

Stop complaining! If you'd bought Disney stock in October 2002, you'd have paid $16 a share. Today it's $34. Stock price has increased by over 100% in 5 years.
You want more $100 million rides? you want another park? This is how it's paid for. Besides, the other premium parks are keeping pace with ticket prices. Even Six Flags and Cedar Fair parks' tickets cost on average $45. They're posting the big profits because the movie division is carrying the weight again. Remember what happened at ABC when they tried to run Millionaire every night? Ratings tanked and ad revenue dried up.
By the way, speaking of profits, are you aware that Cedar Fair has given a 6% dividend for well over a decade now? Disney offers nowhere near that.

Not really complaining...just trying to save a buck wherever we can so we can go to WDW more often!

That's why I'm sitting on a pair of 5 day park hopper pluses with 3 days left and all plus options available that we bought in 2001.
I live in South Florida and it finally became cost effective to have APs once we moved north from Miami and are only three hours away. Also, with free dining, you have to take a one day ticket minimum, which is used as credit towards the AP renewal. Believe me, I know that cost is an issue for most guests. I never even saw WDW until I was 41. I've met so many families who have had to scrimp and save and cut corners just so they could take the kids to WDW, even once in their lives. The only reason I'm as accepting of the price increases is because I'm in entertainment and I can look at a parade or a band performing and almost tell you how much it costs to do that, and it costs a lot.

I just called WDW and was told that the new rates had not been released to the CM's yet. I'm going to try calling again later.
