Re: I'm having a little park ticket sticker shock!

let's face facts.....between the rising costs of disney and the even more horrifying cost of airfare these days, they're pricing everybody right out of having a vacation. pop some oscar meyers on the barbeque in your back yard and slather on some coppertone, cause that's what it's coming to .

Ahhh, see, that's where the fellow Disney consumer has the opportunity to profit more off of their resort increases. I would never rent points out b/c we use all of ours but I would imagine that members would increase their "rent." Good point Daisee.

This is a good deal! We use the water parks so much that this would make a HUGE difference for us. Especially with the no-expire option. I know that adds a lot to the price, but I am always glad to come home with unused tickets. It makes it feel like that next trip is just around the corner!

Re: I'm having a little park ticket sticker shock!

I look at this way. If you buy a AP and use it for a week long trip and a feww 4 day trips like us it is worth it. But we still need to save our reward points for our resort whhich the price of that can be worse.

I'm just glad that I don't have to budget for my AP,because my renewal date is right in the middle of income tax time, and I get my refund by the time I have to pay the credit card bill.

Re: I'm having a little park ticket sticker shock!

This price hike is significant, but I will be ready to renew in Nov.
I can't help feeling like the AP is still a savings. I am able to get the FL season pass, it is a little less expensive.

We expect to find ourselves in FL several times in the next year, so I hope to get the most out of my passes.

Re: I'm having a little park ticket sticker shock!

Have any of you seen Disney's fuel bill and how much it's increased in the last two years? You do know how much diesel they burn every day in all the buses, boats, and trucks, right? You do know that insurance in Florida keeps going up every year too, right? You do know that electricity costs have increased over that time too, right? And what about the CM's medical coverage and salaries? All costs go up and they get passed along to customers, that's business. And it costs more to do business in Florida every year.
The change I like least is making guests responsible for their own tips on the dining plan starting in 2008.

Re: I'm having a little park ticket sticker shock!

By the way, speaking of gas prices. When the price of gas was down at $2.40 a gallon for premium, it cost a lot less than it does today to drive up to WDW with gas at $3.30 for that same gallon. A 400 mile round trip plus $24 for tolls costs me $84, with or without my park admission taken care of. So, let's not split hairs about admission costs going up. The cost of fuel alone increases the cost of my Disney visit by $15 each time over just this winter.

This is all part of the New World Order's plan to keep us all scared all the time and to keep us from being too mobile, so we won't know what's happening.

(Pretty grim, huh?)

Re: I'm having a little park ticket sticker shock!

I guess in a way it does pay to be a Florida resident although not by much

DW & I stopped by the Disney store over the weekend and the CM asked if we were looking to buying tix before they go up. We bought a Fl. Res 3 day pass for $120 each...I had planned on getting those when we got up there in a couple weeks. Boy, am I glad I got them now because I happened to look at the website now with the new prices and I did not even see them listed anymore.

I will say that we may go up again in Dec. and if so, I will buy the Seasonal pass at that point. Before tax, they are $230 which is $15 more than what we paid almost 2 years ago (with tax it is $245)

I feel for you Jess...wish I could get DW to go to Cali so we could hit DL but she won't do it. DOH!

Re: I'm having a little park ticket sticker shock!

I think it is quite obvious to all that EVERYONE'S utility cost are rising, including Disney. That has not changed as of recently. I will agree with fuel cost.. but that does not mean they have to stick it to us every way they can.

I also see that Disney is using an alternate source.. ethanol... in some of their buses.
