Teacups

Ok, first of all, confession......I've never ridden the Teacups. Not sure why, just never have. My question is, do you control the spin? DH gets motion sick REALLY easily and I don't want to subject him to this unless we can control the spin. Thanks!

Re: Teacups

Teacups are so much fun! Sorry to hear about the potential for motion sickness, but we love the fact that you can control your spin speed in the teacups by using the wheel in the middle. Though I must say, one of my colleagues highly recommends NEVER touching the wheel!!

Re: Teacups

i've never been on the teacups, but if it's like dumbo, then you can control the spin just like you can control dumbo going up and down. however, even though you may not make your teacup spin, you're still going to be revolving around in circles from the big platform that all the teacups are on.

Re: Teacups

Yes you control the spin on your own teacup. But the whole ride goes around in a circle.

Re: Teacups

Around in a circle like a carousel.....the individual teacups don't rotate though without your spinning the wheel, right?

Re: Teacups

Even though I don't WANT to be spinning so fast I throw up I always spin that wheel. It's like my DH and I are having a contest on who can spin the fastest without getting sick.

Next trip I am NOT going to spin the wheel....or am I?!?

My MOM has terrible motion sickness/movement sickness . . . and my DDs and I LOVE the teacups the FASTER the BETTER . . . so Grandma came on with us last time and even the motion of the ride wanted to make her throw up, forget even trying to spin it! So I wouldn't recommend it if you are prone to motion sickness!!

Re: Teacups

So, the overall basic movement of the ride is rather intense for those with motion sickness problems? I may scratch this from our itinerary. Another question....how about the Carousel? I've never done that either. Is it as bad? I will say that just watching it go in circles seems a bit much but surely it's different when you're actually on it.

Re: Teacups

Thanks floridaorange.....sounds like I need to scrap them from our touring plans. :) I'll definitely go take a look at those motion sickness ratings too.
