Hello, I am new to the site as we are going on our FIRST ever Disney World trip Nov 17th-24th, 2007....we are travelling with the children aged 16, 9 and 2 1/2.
Now here is my question. Someone told me about a baby pass or baby switch program that Disney offers on it's rides to allow one parent to take th older children on a ride while the other parent stays with the little one...BUT when the ride is over the older kids stay on the ride while the parent switches with the one who had the baby so they can ride without having to wiat in line again. Is there such a thing?? Thank you in advance for any help.

Re: Baby Pass?
What Is The Baby Swap and Where Is It?
Note: The word "group" can mean a couple, family or group of people. The "baby swap" allows a group to ride the more thrilling rides at the parks in shifts when some members of the group are too short (some rides like Space Mountain and Star Tours have height minimums to ensure that the restraint systems work properly) or are simply too young (i.e. an infant or toddler) to ride. The "baby swap" is when a portion of your party gets in the attraction queue. The rest of the party stays with the child(ren) that can't or doesn't want to ride while the first group transverses the queue and the ride. When the first group is done, the second group enjoys the attraction while the first group stays behind with the non-riders. It's kind of ironic that the baby isn't really swapped so much as the adults are. The advantage of the "baby swap" is that the second part of the group doesn't have to wait through the entire queue. That's a big advantage when the lines for the ride are over an hour or more. Child Swap is available on most height-restricted rides. When you enter the queue area, ask the Cast Member you'd like to do Child Swap. Pointers Some things to keep in mind when you're using the "baby swap" strategy: ALWAYS let the cast members at the entrance and loading areas of the attraction know that you're using a "baby swap". The Cast Members can help you make things go smoothly. They are also up-to-date on how the "baby swap" is to be done. Everything is handled by the cast members in a very cordial and efficient fashion. They are clearly very used to working with guests on the "baby swap". Riders are never expected to ride alone. This can work to your advantage. Since each parent is permitted to ride with another guest, an older child or a third adult can enjoy the attraction back-go-back. The "baby swap" is not advertised. You won't see signs in the queues that you can do such a thing. Even so, you should never feel guilty for trying to get away with something...the "baby swap" is allowed by Disney to enhance the enjoyment of the guest. Take advantage of it! Found on Intercot website. Hopefully they still do this. |

Re: Baby Pass?
There is a baby swap on many rides, I won't say all, I'm not sure. Go to the CM at the head of the queue for fast pass riders and ask that person for a baby swap pass. Indeed, your riding kids will get to ride twice, once with each parent.

Re: Baby Pass?
We have used the baby swap quite a bit. You need to take your entire family to the first CM you see at an entrance to a ride. Tell this person you need a baby swap. They will give you a little ticket. Then one person will hang out with the baby/toddler while everyone else rides. Once the ride is over, the group that rode needs to find the one who is staying with the baby. Then the one who didn't get to ride takes the older kids to the fast pass line. Show the CM your baby swap and they will let you ride as if you have a fast pass. It works really well, and it is great to have so you don't have to wait in line twice for everyone to ride the same ride.
A couple of quick tips-make sure you have your entire party when you try to get a baby swap-sometimes they won't give you one-depending on the CM. They will also only give you one at a time. You don't have to use it immediately. For example, one group of your party can ride Splash Mountain-get a baby swap-but save that baby swap for later in the day. There is usually something close by on the rides for the little ones to play with or at least look at while they are waiting. Hope this helps you out and you have a fantastic trip!!

Re: Baby Pass?
We'll have a 12 yr old, 7 yr old & 3 yr old with us when we go in Nov. We've used the baby pass in the past, you can bet we'll be using it this time! It's great!!

Re: Baby Pass?
I know these things were addressed in the previous posts, but I just wanted to point them out.
When you use your Baby Swap Pass, you can take along 2 additional riders. You must go through the Fast Pass Lane to use your Baby Swap Pass. I miss the days before FP when they would escort you directly to the front of the line to use your BS Pass. However, the ability to use FPs to shorten all users' ride wait is definately worth it! Have fun!

Re: Baby Pass?
Welcome aboard! We also use baby swap all the time and we love it! It makes things go so much faster for our DD who can't ride with us yet (It's just me and my husband with our 3 year old most of the time). It is available on just about every ride that has a height requirement.
Just remember, it's not advertised, so you have to ask a CM for the ticket.

Re: Baby Pass?
I am sorry If this is a mini thread jack or if I digress but how old does your child have to be for you to qualify as a 'baby' swap? I only ask this as a couple of you have said you use it when your little ones are 3 years old. I just thought they had to be tiny ones or at least under 2.
( I am not being in anyway rude in my questioning either, although it could be read as that , I am just intrigued being that I have a young daughter also and have never used the swap facility )

Re: Baby Pass?
The baby swap does have more to do with your child's height than his age. Our 3 1/2 year old is only 38 1/2 inches tall, so he can't even ride the rides that require you to be at least 40 inches. We were all hoping he would be at least 40 inches this year so he could ride BTMRR and Splash, but he isn't. But, that is ok, because we do get to use the baby swap again this year!!
