Ditto what CBN said. We also go to a different park (not the EE park) after a break in the afternoon.

We have done 4th of July at MK and boy talk about crowds. They even closed the park around 2 p.m. to any more guests becuase they had reached capacity. We found that on July 4th since they are open late and have the big fireworks show most people came to the park later in the day, so we were there first thing when they opened and had no problem riding all the rides we wanted too. The longest wait we had was about 20 min., around 1 p.m. the park started getting so crowded that it was even getting hard to walk around becuase there were just so many people and the shortest wait for any ride was about 90 min. So at this point we decided to do a couple of rides for the second time and then just walk around and shop. So the moral of the story is if you are going to be at WDW during holidays/summer/peak times then go early in the morning and do all the rides you want and then take advantage of the afternoon to just walk around and shop. :D

I don't think EE is a really bad thing, but if you go, make sure you are there first thing at rope drop and stay for a couple of hours, and then head to a different park. The EE parks are always more crowded than the other parks, but you can take advantage of the extra hour. We usually just skip them all together and head to another park.

We do what Mickey suggested - we are at EE for rope drop, then head home around lunch, relax, then head to the park that was EE the previous day. Since everyone was there the day before, it always seems relatively empty.

That's what I do. I have a notebook right by the computer to write down all of the tips I get here. I just get too many good ideas here to remember on my own.

I have to agree about avoiding the parks with EE .. or that you go to a different park within an hour or two .. we liked EE because we knew which park to avoid .. it was always a given that the park with EE would be packed by lunch.

Same advice as everyone else about EEs.

If you avoid the EEs, don't think that means you can sleep in ;) .
Be at the park you your choosing when the 'ropes drop'. You'll get more done in the first two hours than in then next six.

Also, don't eat at the usual times. This is double saver since you are riding when others are eating, and you don't spend as much time in line waiting for your food.

Park advice:
MK & MGM: If there are two performances of the night time parade/show, see the later on and do rides during the first one.

EPCOT: Really has two openings (Future World and World Showcase). Treat it as such and be ready for the second rope drop for WS. Spend the early after noon in WS, then return to FW in the early evening.

Most days Future World closes at 6pm,so Iwould go on the rides that are really important to you early in the morning.

Some of the more popular FW rides (e.g. TestTrack) stay open past the FW 'close'. Check the maps/schedule or ask a CM.

thanks for posting that .. I knew in the past rides like SSE stayed open till closing but with all the cutbacks, I wondered if they still did :)

We always get up early and grab a little bite to eat. We go to the EE park and by 11am we are done. At that time, we head back to the hotel for a swim or get a late breakfast/early lunch. Next it is to another park! I do like Mickey Mac's idea of going to the previous days EE!!!

FYI, at least for the period May 1-17 here's the list of attractions in EPCOT FW that were open past the 6pm "close":

Honey ISTA: 'til 9pm
Innoventions: 'til 7pm
Leave a Legacy: 'til 9pm (anyone else think it's odd calling this an "attraction"?)
Spaceship Earth: 'til 9pm
Test Track: 'til 9pm
