park hopper vs length of stay

Hi!! The past few times I've gone to WDW I've had length of stay passes. This time I booked a room only so I am purchasing park hoppers seperately. My question is this: I remember with the LOS pass we just had to insert our card in the machine at the entry gate and keep walking. With the park hopper is the procedure the same? Also, do we have to get our hand stamped when we leave the park if we intend on reentering?

yes and yes. They will act exactly like your LOS passes, the only difference is that LOS is time based (active from day 1 to the last day) while hoppers are date based (good for certain # or days).

Something to keep in mind about park hopper tickets is that unused days never expire. LOS passes are only good til closing on the day of checkout. Sometimes it is a better deal to go with a multiday park hopper or annual pass as opposed to a LOS pass.:)

PH vs LOS

I prefer Park Hoppers, as they let me take non park "down days" without feeling guilty (I could be in the MK). I use down days to go 'off Disney' property to shop and explore. PHs never expire, last year we used water parks left over from 1999. In fact, I still have one left! (and I purchased them at 1999 prices).
