We love the lights...It is a must do for our trips. THey usually have them up and going during our annual trip the week before T'Giving. My kiddos loved the "snow"!

i have never been to WDW during Christmas decorations... just DL... so we are excited to see this!!!!!

They moved from Backlot several years ago. I really sort of liked them better there - it was like Christmas Vacation gone nuts. You know the neighbor who has enough lights to be seen from space and can blow the power for the entire neighborhood?

It's a great time to visit.

I just added a late dinner at Yachtman's Steakhouse on Christmas eve. We're going to go to MGM to see the lights then walk over to Yacht Club for dinner about 8-ish. One of my son's best friends is going to be there at the some time so we decided to meet up for dinner that night.

Speaking of Extra Magic Hours, how does one distinguish between Early or Late extra hours?

When I go to the various park schedules, I see Extra Magic Hours listed. The last time I was there, I believe it only meant the park opened up one hour early.

In your example the Osborne lights were listed as being operational between 6 and 8 pm. Is there a rule of thumb in place now that EMH means the park is open an hour later than what is listed on the schedule?

And also, how do they enforce such a policy? Does everyone have to leave and then re-enter?

Go to Walt Disney World Resort - Detecting Browser Properties . . . and click on calendar. They list EHM for each park and break out morning/evening.

The evening hours they make you get an wrist band then the CMs start requiring EMH wrist bands to be admitted to attractions. Only really works if CMs are checking. I've seen people still in the park near the EMH closing without wrist bands.

EMH in the morning means that the park will open an hour early. You will need not only your ticket, but your room key to enter the park before opening.

EMH in the evening means that the park stays open an additional 3 hours for resort guests. You will need your room key in order to get a wrist band that allows you on the attractions for those 3 hours.

I don't have the EMH memorized, but I looked them up for when I would be there. They will give you a paper when you check in that has them listed.
