So my DH just agreed on a date for our 2008 WDW trip. We decided that we want to go in Sept and hope free dinning is offered. Now my younger DD bday is Sept 16th and I want to be there for that since my older one wants to go to Kings Dominion for hers So I think that I will try the dates of Sept 11 th since its a thursday because I think that airlines have some deals on thursdays. If not will make it that friday untill Sat or Sun Sept 20 or 21st.

Now I have requested SWA gist certificates for christmas this year and I hope to get some of my pay check direct deposited into a savings account to get this pd quickly!!!
Now here are the options that I am looking at....

Option one if free dining. STAY AT DISNEY. NO DOUBT. get rental car

Option two.. If no free dining stay on property and get dining plan with 9 or 10 day park ticket no rental and rely on WDW transportation

Option 3 If no free dining stay offsite at best western lakeside. I belong to entertainment club and was able to get room for $28.00 night. Then with all the $ I will save from the room get me and 2 DD's AP's and wing the food.

What should I look into??? Should I book it now and hope free dining comes into play or save the $ and just wait to make a move?? If there is no free dining option 3 looks good too because I can get AP"s and go back with the kids at a later time..

Also does anyone know when MNNSHP starts? I want to be there for that as well

My first choice would be to stay at Disney. Get the whole experience plus the added perks for WDW resort guests. But only you know your budget and what will work best for you.

Budget really doesnt matter at this point. Well it kind of does in a token if I want to do the AP's and the DDP.. Im going crazy!!

I would stay on site but you could book it as aroom only for now. That way, you upgrade later to a complete package including the dining plan if there is a deal. If there isn't a deal, you could still stay on site and possibly get an Annual passholder discount on the room if one of those deals comes up. By only booking the room now, you can upgrade to whichever plan you decide is best. Good luck!

Tinky... I just booked our trip 9/19-9/27 - room only. I am hoping for free dining too, but if not, I will add it in April. I am so excited.

I have stayed at the Hilton across from DTD, and let me tell you, for me I need the entire experience... The Hilton was nice, but I really need to be on WDW property, we will be using the Magical Express from the airport and buses to the park... that is part of my WDW experience...

Let's try to get together... even meet up at one of the parks as soon as I get our schedule together I'll PM you.

I would book the onsite reservations now as Disney resorts do sell out. You can always change that reservation to the offsite later if you have to. I think your possibility of getting a room offsite at the last minute is better than onsite.

Im the mist of me posting my sister calls to see whats Im up to. I told her usualy MB and booking Disney so she said that well.. Hmmm... well...hmm... I guess I will go too. I said so I said to her what day and when and where and everything..She said poss over thanksgiving I always wanted to go at the time for several reasons.. #1 I dont have to cook on thanksgiving
#2 no in laws on thanksgiving
#3 Mickeys xmas party
#4 no inlaws

So now Im stuck. I told her she has untill 11-1 to decide shes for sure and to give me some $ to put onto it. So now I have to figure out is it cheaper to stay at a villa with 4 adults and 3 kids or each get seperate ressies at a value. Now Im going to have to also pay for DDP im sure because of no discount. Im going nuts!!

I would think seperates rooms would be cheaper than a villa. Go ahead and book now, you have 2 weeks to put down a deposit, time for your sister to make up her mind. I booked ours 3 weeks ago for the same time next Sept. I am also hoping for the free DDP.
