planning on taking a Christmas WDW trip

me and my mom always do a trip in December for the brief Christmas break that I get from school.. and it usually over the 19th since that is my birthday as well.
My mother and I were thinking of doing a cruise like we usually do and we wanted to a Disney one but could not find something in our price range. So we are going to try and do another cruise for maybe 5 days and then go to WDW for about 2 or 3 day to check out everything that is going on there for the holiday season.
we are not sure on dates of when we are going ye that is still being worked out but I am very curious as to just what all we should try and check out while we are there in the holiday season since I have never gone that close to Christmas before. So any advise would be great I will keep you all posted as to when we get set dates so I can plan the trip a little better.

Re: planning on taking a Chirstmas WDW trip

Welcome to MouseBuzz! I am taking my first Christmas trip this year so I can't be a lot of help ...yet. However there is MVMCP at the MK, The Osborne Family Spectacle Of Dancing Lights at MGM, Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade at AK and Holidays Around The World at EPCOT just to name a few. There are decorations at all the resorts including a Gingerbread House at the GF that is I hear is a must see.

Re: planning on taking a Chirstmas WDW trip

You're going to be surrounded by beautiful Christmas decorations everywhere you turn, at the parks and the resorts. MVMCP is worth the extra cost, you get to see the MK all decorated and it won't be too crowded, you should get to do as many attractions as you want.

Osborne Lights at Disney-MGM Studios is a must-see. There's no charge, other than park admission.

In World Showcase, at Epcot, storytellers from each country tell how Christmas is celebrated in their country.

Candlelight Processional, the story of Christ is told at Epcot, in front of the American Pavilion every night.

Re: planning on taking a Chirstmas WDW trip

This will be our second Disney Christmas trip or ever for that matter. In 2005 we saw the Candlelight Processional. It was amazing, it brought tears to my eyes. Snow on Main Street and at Osborne Festival of Lights was incredible. A definite must see is the Gingerbread House in the Grand Floridian, it was unbelievable. I am no expert on WDW, being there only once and for Christmas but it was such a awesome experience, we are doing it again this year. Have a wonderful time and Merry Christmas.

Welcome to MB and as stated before you will love it durning December and a must see is Osborne Lights at Disney-MGM Studios. Try to stop by the Resorts like GF as they have wonderfull decorations. There is just so much to see and do. This will be our second trip in December but our first to MVMCP and as I've been told by everyone it is worth every penny.

Can you go and look at the resorts if you are not staying in them? since my mom and I are trying to do a cruise as well we will probably only do like a three day hopper pass or something like that I know I want to go to at least the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and the Mgm studios for sure while we are there and at least one of the water parks. But I know that since will not be staying long we probably will not be able to say in a resort just cuz we could not afford to.

Also I was not sure when does Disney's Christmas stuff start? since my family back in Missouri has so much going on as for the holidays there is no way we could stay there over Christmas the family would never let us hear the end of it..but if we went like in mid December like around when my birthday is maybe a lil earlier would the Christmas stuff be going on by then? might be a nooby question to ask but like I said I have never been to WDW in the holidays before. Been there quite a few times before just never in that season. I ordered a Disney Vacations DVD this last summer since me and my mom went to Disneyland this summer...and I think it has info on it pertaining to the holidays so I might take a look at that when I get a chance too! (Luckily those DVDs cover both DLR and WDW)

You can visit all the hotels. It's encouraged. We went christmas of last year and it was nice getting away from the family and doing what we wanted christmas day.

Re: planning on taking a Chirstmas WDW trip

You're certainly welcome to look around any of the resorts.

I have a lot of pictures of the Christmas decorations in the parks and resorts on my web site. The link is in my signature.

You can visit any resort and don't have to be staying there. The Christmas decorations go up starting around now but are fully up before before December
