suggestions?

We will be making our second Christmas trip to WDW this year. Since we were only there once before, I would welcome and appreciate suggestions on what MouseBuzzers think are must see and do things not to be missed. I have all my ADR's and we have done the Candlelight Processional, HoopDeDoo and Luau. I have Fantasmic dinner package booked this year.
I'm getting really excited about the trip and look forward to hearing your thoughts. Thanks, Lynn

Re: suggestions?

We'll be there too! Arriving Dec. 27 and leaving Jan. 4. DD and I will leave STL and drive to in-laws near Orlando, stay a day & then head to Pop Century! DW will arrive Dec. 28 with her brother and his family. A total of six of us. We opted not to do Candlelight Processional dinner package this time. We're still hitting the processional, of course, just not doing the package. Done the luau before and hoop-de-doo, so just making TONS of ADRs. So far, we've got a lot our our favorites - Rose & Crown, Crystal Palace (breakfast), O'hana, 1900 Park Fare breakfast, Nine Dragons for NYE (It's a tradition to eat Chinese food in our family NYE), Chef Mickey's breakfast, Spoodles and Le Cellier... We want to add Liberty Tree and a breakfast in Animal Kingdom. Any other suggestions? (We also and gonna try and squeeze in a round of golf and DD and I may finally try parasailing!)

Re: suggestions?

I always like to try a little something different - it's getting harder to find things after 27 times. I love the "sleeper" attractions.

We did the Animation Tour at MGM and had an art class with an animator - he taught us how to draw Stitch - it was so much fun and we were amazed at our efforts. I love visiting One Man and His Dream at MGM too.

Don't miss Carousel of Progress at the MK - because rumour has it it will be gone soon. Last year we rediscovered the Indy Speedway - we laughed so much! It's a "must-do" for us again. Take the train around the park, just for the heck of it. Another "must-do" for me is Mickey's Philharmagic.

At the AK do the Safari and do the Jungle Walk in Asia. I could watch the tigers all day. Don't miss the Finding Nemo Show or Festival of the Lion King.

At Epcot take time to shop in the World Showcase and of course Soarin'.

For a change, if you have any free time, or it's raining, take in a movie at DTD. We saw Ratatouille there - it's fun watching a Disney movie at WDW.

Alot of these things aren't the most popular - but they add magic to your trip. I don't know if you're park commandos, but if you are, try to slow down a bit more and enjoy the moment, instead of trying to squeeze as much as possible into every day. That's the best advice I can give.

Re: suggestions?

We've been unable to squeeze in Epcot's tree lighting, due to timing of CP and CP dinners, but hear it's good.

We will be making our first Christmas trip so I have not seen anything yet but we are going to spend a day going from resort to resort looking at the decorations.

Re: suggestions?

Thank you for your suggestions, keep them coming, please. I am starting to get really excited. We did a lot of extra things the first time because I didn't think we could go back again, but we missed alot of the regular attractions. I don't think we will be able to visit again soon, so I want to enjoy them while the kids are still little.

We are going to DTD this time, we've never been so any tips would be appreciated. thanks, Lynn

At DTD the Lego store is not to be missed. Even my oldest DS (16) still enjoys it. It is truely amazing the things some people can do with Legos.

Re: suggestions?

Nearly all of the Deluxe resorts are worth a visit just to see the decorations. Don't miss the lobby of the Boardwalk Inn and be sure to see the carousel at the Beach Club.

That's a great idea. I didn't think of that until after our last Christmas trip.

I hear some of the resorts are great, I don't know how many we will get to see but we will hit the big ones.

DTD - We must go to:
The Art Of Disney
World Of Disney
Disney Days Of Christmas
Disney Tails
Disney's Wonderful World Of Memories
and
Goofy's Candy Co.

Just to name a few.

AKL & WL have beautiful trees. Contempory has a great "candy" display..it's near the elevators on the ground level floor I think. We made the rounds of resorts on our Dec 05 trip. When you're at MK, hop on the monorail and check out those resorts and while at Epcot hop over to the Boardwalk, Beach Club etc...
Also, alot of the countries at Epcot have a Christmas Story teller. It's really neat to learn the history and traditions of other countries.
Are you going to MVMCP?? Loved it! Going again in 2008.
