Paint Brush on Tom Sawyers Island

Do they still hide the paint brushes and if so what is the prize for turning them in? I really want to help my nephew find one next week!

Good luck, we spent 20 minutes waiting for the first boat over and looked for about a half hour and never did find one. Never again in August!!

We made it on the second raft over one morning this past September and were unsuccessful. We saw two people with paint brushes - they received fastpasses for either Splash Mountain or Big Thunder. My five year old was disappointed, but Disney magic kicked in, as the entire raft was given dream Mickey ears (the blue cloud-covered ones) when we docked after our return trip!

We found the paint brush. You receive a pass for BTMRR or SM.

We found it once upon a time as well!
However..we found it around 11:00 a.m...so I am guessing we were the only ones who knew about it that day

It's just luck really.
But good luck!! We had a great time looking for it!

Welcome to Mousebuzz, BellaLuna!!

DS looked so hard for the paintbrush two years ago but never found it. Lo and behold it was right on the pier where you get off/on the ramp. He was soooo disappointed. But . . . we kinda looked there before we headed off onto the island and saw nothing. It seemed to magically appear when people started wandering back to the raft . . . hmmmm. Some cute little guy found it but I don't remember if he "won" anything. It was fun searching!!

Never heard this before either. If you do find it, who do you turn it in to? The CM who operates the raft?

You have to remember that some one has to hide it first. Not all the time will it happen before island opening, and if there is a training group occasionally they will re-hide the paint brushes, just depends on who is there.
Yes you turn it into the raft driver, and they will give you a magical moments certificate and a "fastpass" to either splash or BTM. But you don't have to find a paint brush to have a magical moment sometimes it just takes buttering up (little kids being adorable) to a raft driver.
BTW, there's an occasional gold nugget hunt in the caves. Talk to the raft driver about it.
