Legend of the Lion King, CLOSED!

I just looked at disneyworld.com and apparently not only am I going to miss The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh but the Legend of the Lion King which so many people have recommended to me is also shut down. They are replacing the show with Mickey's Philharmagic. I have never seen The Legend of Lion King but heard it was wonderful.. I guess since I've never seen it I don't know what I'm missing but come on everyone tell me the truth should I be super disapointed about this?:hmmm

I guess it really doesn't matter there isn't much that could bring me down right now!! It's almost time to go.:D

Did you ever see the Lion King show at the AK? That show was REALLY good. I too never saw the one at MK - lines were too long. Have a great trip!

Just make sure you see the one at AK it is very good. And I think much better than the one at MK. I think other DC'ers will say the same thing about the AK one.

The one at AK is the best show in WDW. Don't sweat missing the one at MK.

I agree, with Willbegone. The one at the MK wasn't a big deal, the one at AK is the one you must not miss!!!
I am really looking forward to Mickey's Philharmagic!

The one at MK was nice & we enjoyed it, but I'm looking forward to Phiharmagic. I'm hoping it's like a Fantasia thing. Not to be repetitive, but the Lion King Festival at AK is much better. Have you seen the Little Mermaid show in MGM? I equate the Lion King one at MK to that. Nice & entertaining, but nothing you'll miss. The one at AK, however, is NOT to be missed!!!

Can't wait to hear about your trip. Fill us in on all the details when you get back, & have a wonderful time!

The one at MK has been closed for quite some time... we saw it in Oct. 2001 and it was ok, but nothing spectacular. We went again in April 2002 and I think it was closed then and has been ever since. I'm really looking forward to Mickey's Philharmagic! We've never seen the one at AK but plan to in Sept. I hear it is wonderful!

I'm thinking the people were really meaning the Festival of the Lion King show in the AK as a must-see. The Lion King attraction that was in the MK was never classified as a must-see!

Be sure to see Fantasmic also! That is the must-see nighttime show IMHO.

Tell me more......but quickly

Is the Little Mermaid show not worth the time? I have two boys and a BABY girl (who won't know the difference) that I need to entertain. Would boys enjoy it AT ALL? TIA!!!

If they like the Little Mermaid Movie then definately! It is a musical bit...Sebastian sings which is fun & colorful, Ursula does her creepy number and finally Ariel appears singing. They blow bubbles all over the theater and the sound effects and breeze are a treat! It is also an especially nice treat when it is very hot outside!! We never miss it but I have a DD! Have fun. Give it a try. I think they'll like it!
