A friend on another site went to that buffet last year. She said it was GREAT. But at $50 a pop, too rich for my blood since I'm on the Dining Plan.

Re: park hours this past Thanksgiving??

well, Kim, i wanted to use a photo for my avatar...tried it, it looked awful!! so i changed it a Mickey...i was wanting something new anyway. and since you would not have been able to recognize me from the blurriness of the picture..it was pointless to use it.

chances are that we won't cross paths and if we do we won't know it. but if you notice a lady with long red/brown hair (that's me, Charlotte) pushing a gray & black stroller with bright yellow bandanas hanging from both side of the handlebar...with a little blonde princess in tow (that's DD, Megan), than PLEASE feel free to say "hi". :C) LOL!!

You're INSANE. I saw your pic and you looked GREAT!!!!!!!!!! Put it back!
We should plan to meet up somewhere, just to say HI and for a photo op.

I have long dark brown/black hair with 2 kids in a Maclaren Double Stroller that DH usually pushes!

Re: park hours this past Thanksgiving??

Hey count me in as being there Thanksgiving! We are planning on arriving Sat before Turkey day and leaving Saturday after. We are 99.9% sure but I don't want to post countdown until DH's vacation gets approved at work in February. Anywho, we are expecting the crowds on the weekend of thanksgiving so we plan to hit the parks heavy early in the week and leave the weekend for going back to do extras. This trip we plan on trying mostly new meals, here are my ideas so far:
Boma
H&V character lunch (we've done dinner but not lunch)
Garden Grill

These are the only ones I'm sure about. The other 4 with DDP will be decided later.

Re: park hours this past Thanksgiving??

My take on the week as far as crowds go was that it was LITERALLY a week split in two. From the Sunday BEFORE Thanksgiving until Wed., it was fairly "average" park attendance. We hardly used any fast passes, at the end of the night & during the mid-day rush the bus areas were pretty sparce, plenty of space to watch parades & fireworks, quick service lunch locations were short waits & tables easy to find.

On Thanksgiving morning I was SHOCKED how empty the park was. We arrived to the MK at opening for extra magic hours, & LITERALLY the park was near empty until around 10:00 am. At that point it seemed like all of Central Florida poured into into the MK. "Wall to wall" from about 11am-4pm. To us it made NO difference AT ALL b/c we got there SUPER early & were ready to move onto other things after our 12 noon meal at Liberty Tree, by the time the crowds got bad. It hardly effected us at all.

After Thanksgiving dinner at 1900 Park Fare we decided to walk around DtD... EMPTY!

"Black Friday," which is the day after Thanksgiving was WEIRD! This is the 2nd year in a row we've been in the parks for Black Friday & to be honest once AGAIN we were surprised how slow the parks seemed. We were in EPCOT & MGM and honestly we didn't have any crowd problems at all. UNTIL... we tried to go see the Osborne Lights!!! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR... DO OSBOURNE LIGHTS BEFORE THANKSGIVING DAY!!! I am telling you that all of WDW was poured into that backlot every night AFTER Thanksgiving. Before Thanksgiving we walked down the street & took pictures with ease, AFTER Thanksgiving it was elbow to elbow.

The only other advice I could give would be the whole ADR thing, people don't play when it comes to having ADRs on Thanksgiving Day, both lunch & dinner. We LITERALLY called when the line opened 180 days before Thanksgiving & we were only able to get Liberty Tree for lunch & two days later the ONLY dinner locations left were 1900 Park Fare, Morocco, & Norway. It was CRAZY!

It was a great week to go though. The temps were nice, no rain, light crowds BEFORE Thanksgiving, you get to see all the holiday decor, etc. We loved it!

Re: park hours this past Thanksgiving??

Thank you so much Wish!!!

i am hoping by the fact that Norway was still available when you called for a diner ADR 2 days after 180 out, that i will have good luck in getting that one right off the bat for Thanksgiving diner.

glad to hear about the crowd levels and what to expect re: Obsborne Lights.

thanks again for the info. & advice! :C)

1) Accourding to the "WDW Times Guide & New Information" thingy I saved "SpectroMagic" was at 8pm & 10pm every night. Wishes was at 9:00pm.

2) Fantasmic was listed for 6:30 & 8pm

3) On Thanksgiving morning the MK opened for "Extra Magic Hours" at 7am.
