Re: park hours this past Thanksgiving??

I was there for 10 days during Thanksgiving this past year. If you give me a bit I will go look for the park hours slip I know I kept.

Come remind me if I forget to come back here, I accidentially do that sometimes.

yeah!!!!

i remember you TR.....LOVED IT!!

i might have to run my plans past you when it gets closer and i get them more hammered out. just to get your thoughts :C)

i could use a bit of reassuring from someone who has been there during that time of year.

we are used to the Jan. crowds and so i know it will be a change for us. but according to "the unofficial", the crowds are only 1 pt. higher than those in Jan., getting up to 2 pts. higher on the Wed. prior to and then on Turkey Day.

but i don't know what 1 pt. diff. really means.....

is it like the richter scale where 1 pt. =10X higher ???

anyway, look forward to seeing the park hrs.!

thanks!!

Re: park hours this past Thanksgiving??

I will be there that same week! We get there Friday before Thanksgiving (staying off site for 2 nights) and then we move to AKV on Sunday through Friday, after Turkey Day. Then we move off site for 1 more night.

Wishy, we will probably only go to the parks for 4 days. What do you think of these days:

Sunday, Mon and Tues before Thanksgiving
Friday after Thanksgiving

Will that Friday be super crowded??

A friend from another site said that first thing in the morning that Friday, the MK was DEAD. She said the crowds didn't start coming until around lunch time! I guess everyone was too full to wake up early after their Thanksgiving dinner.

Re: park hours this past Thanksgiving??

we are heading back home on that Friday....with avoiding the crowd being our main motivation for skipping that weekend. I wish I could talk DH into staying another day or 2...but he thinks it will be WAY too crowded.

our plan roughly:
Fri.21: drive down, check in, hang at resort
Sat: MK: 8-1, break 1:30-4, back to MK 4:30-9
Sun:MK:9-4
Mon:MK 9-1, break 1:30-3:30, Hollywood Studios 4-8
Tues: AK: 8-5
Wed. MK: 9-4
Thurs. Thanksgiving Day!!!!: AK 8-2, break 2:30-5, Epcot 5-10...with Princess Storybook diner buffet
Fri: Check-out & Drive home :C(

so what do you all think????

Sounds great! But what are the rest of the ADRs you're planning?

Wishy, how are the parks on Thanksgiving Day?

That is great for you. Also, everyone usually shops till they drop that day. That may also have something to do with it.

Kim, I would love to hear what are you planning!! What are your ADR's for Thanksgiving Day?

this is what I am thinking so far for ADR's.
Sat. : CS going to try El Pirate' for lunch & get an ADR for Tony's for diner
Sun: CS Cosmic Ray's late lunch,& diner at resort
Mon: CS going to try Columbia House Harbor for lunch
***need ADR or CS suggestion for the DHS(Dis. Holly. Studios) :what is the abrv. for that??
Tues:Donald's Safari Breakfast (late..10:20 if possible) & diner at resort
Wed: Plaza about 3pm & diner at resort
Thurs: CS: Flame Tree for lunch, & Princess Storybook @ Epcot Diner

we eat breakfast in our room...muffins or cereal...the food in the resort foodcourt in the morning is so heavy & greasy IMHO...and the crowd is not fun to deal with 1st thing...so we skip all that, since breakfast is not a big deal for us.

we like to have a couple of snacks in the mid-morning and do lunch later...about 1-2pm, then have diner about 6pm., then get a little sweet for desert even a bit later.

so can anyone recommend CS for DHS(?)?? i am thinking that we are not going to be giving ourselves enough time there to do a TS meal.

but any and all suggestions are welcome! :C)

Does the Princess Storybook Dinner have a special Thanksgiving Day Menu?

I haven't decided where I will be on each day...I NEED THE HOURS TO COME OUT! But we will only be going to the parks for 4 days. We only get onsite that Sunday until Friday. So we only have 5 TSs on the Dining Plan. Here is where I want to eat so far:

LE CELLIER (OF COURSE!!!!)
MAYA GRILL
BOMA
'OHANA (I THINK WE WILL DO THANKSGIVING DAY HERE)
**not sure of the last meal! I am thinking either trying Yak & Yeti, San Angel, since we missed it last trip OR Tokyo Dining since DH LOVES Sushi...if the Sushi is included, we might go there.
CHEF MICKEY'S...for the morning we leave. We will pay OOP for that one though!

As for Counter Service, I have my favorites and have to decide:
EARL OF SANDWICH (MUST!)
WOLFGANG PUCK CAFE (HAVE TO TRY THIS)
COSMIC RAYS (AWESOME RIB AND CHICKEN COMBO)
CANTINA DE SAN ANGEL (THE BEST TACO SALADS...YUM!)
SUNSHINE SEASONS
PECOS BILLS (CHILI CHEESE FRIES...GREAT SNACK TO EAT AS A MEAL! )

your plans sound great!

I like San Angel, good food, great atmosphere. I have not tried Yak & Yeti or Tokyo Dining, so I cannot comment on either of them.

thanks for sharing your plans! :C) it's fun to see what/where another MB'er will be doing during the same time we will be there.

A great place for Thanksgiving Dinner is @ the Dolphin...they have characters and the food was awesome. The ADRs for that even comes in a little later than other Disney themed dining, so I usually book something else and when that is announced grab it.
