EPCOT Question

My son is obsessed about playing "robot games" in EPCOT. I don't know where he heard this but he talks about it all the time. I hope he is not disappointed.

My question...

Does Innovations have "games" for kids? If so, what do they offer? Is it age appropriate for a 4 year old?

I never went into the innovations pavilions during my last 2 trips so I have no idea what to expect!

The best part of Innoventions (according to my son) closed this spring. Plastic Works was awesome, you listened to a little talk about plastic, then created a robot on a computer and raced it, and ended by building your own plastic robot to take home. It was very cool but sadly it just closed.

My son also loved Toon Town Tag but that closed during our Christmas trip.

Those were the only things my son really loved in Innoventions. I don't know what else is there since we spent most of our time doing those things.

We went to Innoventions on our last trip with our 3 1/2 yo DD. She enjoyed it, and we honestly could have spent all morning there if she had let us. It's fun, but know your time limits.

They have a lot of neat, educational things like what to do in a housefire. They turn it into a game with little guns to shoot at the fire, and then they have a model of a house that has lights on the floor where the fire is.

There are also a lot of different computer games, models of bugs, displays about atoms, and blocks to build your own. It's pretty cool, and I do recommend it.

I think a four year old would find fun things to do in Innoventions. Our DD used to love to go in there and it was sometimes hard to get her out too. I would say go take a look for sure.

The last time we went to Innoventions was August '07 and my children played Toontown Tag, built the plastic robot, did the simulated house fire which teaches safety and took digital pictures so they could email them back home to family. I definitely believe that there is something for everyone.

I know--we loved Plastic Works. I haven't seen it with my own eyes but I read it on another board. When we were there at Christmas one of the CMs told us it was closing soon but I didn't think much of it but I guess she was right.

We've always found Innovations to be be underwhelming at best. I think WDW could do sooooooo much more with this site.

My kids have video games at home. I know there is more than that there, but, a lot of the things are little more than that when you take a closer look. They aren't even very futuristic anymore.

That's too bad it was something my son really enjoyed and it was fun to make a robot and take him home. I bet my son has at least 20 robots that he still gets out to play with.

We also loved the robot build/race...it's sad that it is gone.

My DS and DH always play the fire game - last time I played w/DS and we "smoked" DH!! :) It's fun to remind him of that!

We have also done the thing where you email pictures to people.

It seems we also played a game, kind of like Memory, where you had to match the state with a product they produced...I *think* I'm remembering this correctly.

We also LOVE the house of the future. DH and I still talk about that whirlpool bath with the TV in it...I want one!

It is a nice, cool place to take a break - even if you just browse around.
