Disney Kicks Off Safety Campaign
Disney announced a new safety initiative Thursday called the Wild About Safety Program. The campaign will put safety tips in children's menus, brochures, maps and coloring books. New safety barriers, ground markings and audio messages are part of the program.
One example shown to the media Thursday was a cartoon in a brochure that depicted Lion King character Pumbaa in a roller-coaster with a camera, sunglasses, cell phone and other items falling out. The tag ling says "Hold On To Your Gear." In addition, cast members will wear pins depicting various safety tips that guests can ask for. The program was received enthusiastically by independent safety experts. Sounds like a good plan to me, too!
