Speaking of Drops

My wife has a fear of heights and has refused to ride Tower of Terror (understandable), Space Mountain, and Rock N Roller Coaster.

But she will ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad...

IIRC, isn't the biggest drop in BTMR as big - or maybe even bigger - than Space Mountain & R&R Coaster?

Hi, I am not sure about WDW's Big Thunder Mt. but Disney Lands is just fast not a lot of big drops that would take your breath away. :D (love those)

My husband wont ride most roller coster rides but LOVED Big Thunder. That is his favorit ride at Disney Land. I was shocked that when California Adventure opened I was able to talk him onto California Screamn. He liked it because it doesn't have lots of corckscrews.

How can you go to WDW and not ride ToT, Rock 'N' Rollercoaster and Space Mountain? It's kind of like going to Flying Fish and ordering the only steak on the menu.

I can't see Space Mountain having a drop of more that ten or twelve feet. It pretty much is a steady decline the entire ride. You may be high in the air though, which may be the problem. Rock 'N' Rollercoaster is the same thing, but I would imagine that it has larger drops due to the loops and such. Has she ridden Splash Mountain? The drop on Splash is easily twice that of any other ride, Tot excluded of course.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 1st drop in Pirates of the Carribean and even The Barnstormer is steeper than Big Thunder.

She went on Splash Mountain...once. Never again.

I think the beauty of Space and R&R is that you can't really tell how high you are. Heck...that's all Space has going for it. If Space wasn't in the dark, it'd be fairly lame, but put it in the dark and it's amazing.

I don't think R&R has a decent drop in the whole ride since it doesn't use gravity to generate speed. It has always felt like more of a horizontal ride to me.
