Kinda nervous about TOT

Hi guys! I read a post the other day that said TOT is in the process of switching to seatbelts instead of the lap bar! Has anyone ridden it with the seatbelts? My DH and I are rather fluffy(315 & 275)and that just adds another seatbelt I have to worry about! Is there plenty of seatbelt or should I be concerned? Thanks!:nervous :)

I have ridden with the seatbelts and they give an extremly uneasy feel to the ride. However you bring up an excellent question that I cannot answer.

From what I remember from March the seatbelts were adjustable and seemed to have plenty of belt. I'm sure if you contacted WDW they would let you know OR check wdwig.com they always seem to be update on that kind of info.

silly1991,

I'm about 270, and I had no problem with the seatbelt.

There is plenty of seatbelt, so don't worry. Not all the elevators have the all seatbelts yet. A couple still have the lapbars.

Here is my 4 year old on the TOT seat belt seat. In his case it was really tight, I suggest keep it a bit loose!:nervous
(Hope the picture shows)

I can understand some people being more nervous about the new restraint change, but I am so excited. I need to remember to ask for a car that only has the seat belts!!

My DD (5) is really excited to ride this again, but my DS (8) is a little more nervous. He doesn't like scary rides. He said he would ride it just to check out the changes. He is mostly excited to ride RandRC. Unfortunatly the little daredevil..aka..DD is not tall enough to ride yet. The other day at Payless shoes I saw a pair of shoes that had 2" thick soles. Maybe I 'll buy them just for RandRC.

We sure could have used the seat belts 4 years ago when our littlest son was five. He sat in-between my husband and I. When we got off the CM asked him how he liked it and he cried that "his bottom left the seat"( because he was with two big people and he was little and skinny).:D :D :D

I like the seat belts much better. My DS is 3 and when we was on it with the bar he came up off the seat much more. But with the seat belt we stays in the seat better. He loves this ride he gets of and says go again.

SEATBELTS?!?!?

:nooo:

When did they start this? Isn't this taking the "thrill'' out of the thrill ride?

We LOVED  the bars because they give you so much 'air time'. Of course, we are thrill ride junkies and wish there were actually more big, thrilling rides at Disney.

Does anyone know the purpose of them using the seatbelt restraint versus the lap bar?
