Icon5 Help with rides & motion sickness

This will be my DH 1st visit to WDW. He has issues with motion sickness; he takes OTC medicine every time he flies and even got sick on the ferry to Fort Sumter (Charleston, SC). I know to stay away from the obvious ones that spin and coasters. I really want him to enjoy and experience this trip too. Not just stand and watch me ride with our 8 year old DD. Luckily our DD loves shows so we can do lots of those. Can you all help me out with things that he will enjoy? The trip is in August but we are so excited I want to start marking don’t miss attractions now.

Re: Help with rides & motion sickness

I actually think he should be fine with most of the rides. Like you said, avoid the coasters and spinning rides, but that still leaves lots of great rides. Here are some I can think of from the top of my head that should be fine:
Magic Kingdom:
-Pirates
-Haunted Mansion
-Jungle Cruise
-Everything in Fantasyland except the Tea Cups
-Buzz Lightyear
-Carousel of Progress
-TTA

Epcot:
- Universise of Energy
-Spaceship Earth
-The Nemo ride at the Living Seas
-Living with the Land
-Imagination ride
-The boat rides at Mexico & Norway

The Studios:
-The Great Movie Ride
-Muppets 3D
-The backlot tour

Animal Kingdom:
-The Safari
-It's Tough to be a Bug
-All the animal paths

There are lots of others too - I'm sure more people will chime in. All the parks have great shows too. You are going to have a great time!

Re: Help with rides & motion sickness

i wanted to add to the list of OKAY rides:

Magic Kingdom:
~Monster Inc. Laugh Factory: not really a ride
~ Stitch's Great Escape
~Speedway : go carts
re: Fantasyland..if he's VERY motionsick prone, I would not chance it on: Dumbo, or Cinderalla's Carousel...these rides are not worth risking it on. Everything else in Fantasyland should be fine, no problem.

Re: Help with rides & motion sickness

There is soooo much he can do that aren't just motion rides. Try cartooning at MGM, and the shows at all the parks are fabulous and will keep you busy!

Re: Help with rides & motion sickness

If you haven't purchased any guide books yet, the Unofficial Guide addresses motion sickness potential in its reviews. There will still be plenty to keep him entertained!

Re: Help with rides & motion sickness

Wow! You guys are great. I knew I could get great help from you. I was pretty sure most of the attractions were pretty tame and you confirmed it for me. Thanks so much!!
