Sounds Dangerous?

Well, ladies and gentlemen, this past weekend I had the pleasure of returning to WDW. I arrived with the usual excitement and anticipation of what my trip would hold for me and my family.

We started our day at MGM. That landed us at a curious attraction called "Sounds Dangerous". Perhaps some of you have experienced this attraction. Perhaps some of you are considering it on your next trip. Perhaps I should help those of you who do not want to waste your precious theme park time by telling you to pass this one up.

I am a lover of all things Disney. This I admit. However, when I find issue with certain Disney things, I am big enough to point that out, too.;)

Now, I recall with fondness the attraction prior to Sounds Dangerous: Monster Sound Stage. That was a funny flick with Martin Short and Chevy Chase set in a haunted house with many sound effects. After viewing the film, members of the audience were invited to try to create similar sounds using Foley mechanisms. It was fun! It was funny! It was learning about film and movies. It was not a waste of time.

Sounds Dangerous occurs mostly in total darkness. Needed to add to the effect of listening and feeling as if these things (such as a hair cut) are happening to you. When it is not dark, you watch a poor film of a poorly acting Drew Carey as a security guard, or something like that. Nothing else happens. 12 minutes of "I passed up Ariel for this?"

Ladies and Gentlemen, please, spare yourself those 12 minutes. Go get an ice cream or popcorn instead. You'll be much more amused.:p

:hmmm if that was there last year we must of just walked right by it .. we had seen the one with Drew Carey and it was ok but not really something we rushed to. We did like playing in the area next to it where you add in sounds like being the voice of the wicked queen/witch in snow white. Thanks Cinderellafifi we wont worry about passing this one by :) again

Thanks for the review, Cinder! We were going back and forth on whether to put this on our 'want to do' list at all. With so many things to do and so little time, at best we'll put this at the very bottom of our list.

Yes,you can safely miss this attraction. It is NOT worth the time it takes to see it.

Okay, is my fam the only ones that really liked this? We thought it was funny and my DD (8) talked about it the rest of the day Maybe it had somehting to do with the fact that is was about 95 degrees and it was air conditioned!:laugh

We wasted our time in that exhibit shortly after it opened. Now it's just a space that makes the walk to StarTours a little longer
BTW, you're review reminded me of our first (and only) experience in Extra-Terrorestrial (or whatever it's called) at MGK. My immediate reaction was "You mean we waited in line for 40 minutes for them to turn out the lights and shake the seats?!?"

I liked sounds dangerous. It's not one I highly recommend but I had no problem with it. Well, that's just me.

I also enjoyed Sounds Dangerous. Not every attraction can be of mind blowing ability. It was pleasant, not hard to get into and yes it was nice to sit for a few minutes. We were there Jan. 2 so being hot was not a problem. If you are walking by and the crowd is not bad I suggest you go in! Especially if it is hot!!
