October in the parks?

How are the parks in October?

What are the dates of the Halloween festivities?

Does it get crazy busy the week of Halloween?

Thanks!!!!!!

Re: October in the parks?

October is a great time to go. The weather is just perfect. Besides the MNSSHP, there is also the food and wine festavile in EPCOT. We have not been for Haloween it's self, but would imagine that it would be more busy. There is another thread with the tentative days for MNSSHP and MVMCP.

I am excited to see what everyone has to say also because this is the first time we're going in October. We'll be there October 8th-15th. What dates are you thinking of booking BuzzLightyear & what resort? We'll be at Old Key West.

We are looking at the whole month right now, but keying in on either the first or last week.(looking for best airfare)

Staying at Old Key West also!!!

We have a studio reserved at OKW for August, but the more we think about it the more we'd like to avoid the summer if possible.

Re: October in the parks?

We took our first October trip this past fall to celebrate my birthday. We were there on my actual birthday, and it was GREAT to be in my favorite place on Earth on my special day, but it was much more crowded than I expected it to be. The weather was nice--not too hot, but warm enough that when we got soaked on Kali at AK we weren't freezing. We had a VERY rainy morning one day, but around 11 am the rain stopped and it was overcast the rest of the day. We just donned our ponchos that morning and shed them once the rain stopped, and it was the only time we needed them the whole trip. It was a good trip in all, but I was disappointed to see such big crowds at a time I expected to be a little slower.

Re: October in the parks?

I think October is a perfect month to go. We went in the begining and it was warm enough to swim but not oppressive heat during the day. MNSSHP was a blast and I highly recommend it.

Re: October in the parks?

We used to love to go in October when DD was small- and one of the reasons we went at this time was the UK has a school holiday in the middle of October, so we used to find the parks were fairly busy but manageable.

Re: October in the parks?

Columbus day weekend and the Halloween MNSSHP are usually the only busy times during the month. The first weekend of October is usually my favorite time of that month to go.

Re: October in the parks?

We went in October 14-22 in 2005. It was busy but not packed. WE LOVED IT!! The weather was perfect and MNSSHP and F&W make it all the more awesome.
