How busy the end of July?
First and formost, I would like to say hi to everybody. I'm brand new to this forum and have been "lurking around" for a few weeks and deceided to join. My family and I will be going WDW staying at CSR from July 28th to Aug. 4th(fairytail vacation package) and was wondering how busy it might be down there. We went last year duing the 3rd week in August (Hyatt Grand Cyprus) and it was fairly slow.

Welcome to DisneyCentral. I'm not too sure how to answer this question, because with the fairy tale package,I'm sure the place will be more crowded than usual. I remember from last year that it wasn't too bad. I'm sure you will do fine.

We were there last year at the end of June and it was crowded but not as bad as I thought it would be.
We will be down in Disney on the same week as you: July 29th till Aug5th, we will be at AKL. I was thinking what mickaholic wrote allready. Because of the FTP there are alot more people going and Im assuming that they will be going in the early to mid summer months while the kids are out of school. Hey we'll be in Disney and thats all that matters to us. :)

It's always busier during the summer months when kids are out of school but at least you'll be missing the July 4 crush, which is always one of the busiest times of the year. You shouldn't have any problems with the dates that you're going, just be aware that crowds can fluctuate wildly for no apparent reason.
We drove out to Epcot on Memorial Day, traditionally one of the busier holidays, expecting big crowds. The park was certainly busy, but nowhere near like what we've seen on other Memorial Days. Sometimes it's just a roll of the dice as to what you'll get. Welcome aboard, and enjoy your trip.

Welcome XiosMX5,
I am so glad you said the third week in August is pretty slow. That is when we will be going and I was stressing about it a bit. Oh, sorry I can't help you... Tinkerbell, when are you going?????

We went late in July last year from the 21st through the 28th I beleive. It was pretty crowded but bearable. Hot and humid and rainy but we still had a great time. Pack ponchos (Or you can buy nice yellow MM ones!) we spent an entire in EPCOT in the pouring rain and had a ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We also stayed ar CSR and it was very nice. The grounds are beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a great time!:)

For us, it's August 2 - August 9. Wilderness Cabins. I've not been to the park since 9/11/01 but I've heard that the throng of crowds is considerably less than it was prior to that disastrous event.
At the local Disney Store the other day, the CM said that it was her understanding that parking lots have been down 1 to 2 thirds since then. Given that, I can understand why they are offering the Fairy Tale package during their peak time. I certainly took advantage of it. My one regret is that we leave 6 days prior to the opening of Mission Space.

I don't want to raise anyone's hopes, but if I was going to be there close to the opening of Mission Space on the 15th,keep in mind it isn't the grand opening. It is what they call a soft opening, meaning it's unofficial. That said,I would ask at my resort's main desk every day I'm there if the Mission Space was open yet. You never know, they may just quietly decide to open it early.
