Icon9 Help trying to get park tickets cheap

We are trying to plan a trip with my little brother and his family. He is currently enlisted in the military and has already completed a tour in Iraq and will be deployed again. Before he goes he wants to take his 3 daughters and wife to Disney. But the park tickets are hurting our plans. I have searched all over the net for cheap tickets but with his pay not happening. We are pricing out flights and hotel (Days Inn) 1200.00. Plus another 1000.00 for just tickets. Just checking if anyone has any ideas or is selling any Unused days.

Dan,
The age of "unused" days are gone. All tickets are matched to biometric scans. Honestly, their are some ticket brokers out there, but they are only going to save a handful of dollars.

I found this at mousesavers.com

Government Discounts

If you are a government employee (local, county, state or federal), you should always ask if there is a government discount (be sure to carry your ID with you and have it available at check-in). Many contractors to government agencies also qualify. Most of the major hotel chains offer government rates, though you may have to call the hotel directly, since these rates don't show up on most of the hotel web sites. Thanks to ClaymoH for the info!
Military Discounts

If you are active duty or retired military, you should always ask if there is a military discount (be sure to carry your ID with you and have it available at check-in). Often the military discounts are among the best offered by hotels. Most of the major hotel chains offer military rates, though you may have to call the hotel directly, since these rates don't show up on most of the hotel web sites. Thanks to John G for the tip!

Military, retired military, reserves and their family members can rent a "space available" condo at timeshare resort locations worldwide for only $329/week through AFV Club. Because of the huge number of timeshares in Orlando, it's not unusual to find availability through this organization. Note that your plans will probably have to be flexible since the condos often don't become available until pretty close to the dates of travel. If you are a family member, the military person has to get you a "gift certificate." Thanks to Lisa S for info!
You might want to call Shades of Green, the military resort at WDW and ask about lodging and ticket discounts.

Dan if I were you....I would stay at a timeshare deal. Some of them are 4 days 3 nights including Park tickets. You will have to view a 90 minute Timeshare deal but it will be worth it. If you need help finding one I can help. PM me. Some have wonderful deals. We stayed at Marriott Grande Vista for 99.00 for 5 days and 4 nights. The resort is gorgeous and they gave us two park tickets. The money you are saving on lodging will help pay for the tickets. Also where are you flying out of? I might be able to help with airline reservations. I might be able to get some deep discounted fares.

Good luck.

Re: Help trying to get park tickets cheap

One way to save on ticket cost is to go do one of the Party's. Like the Pirate & Princess, Halloween, Christmas etc. Also, they can mix it up. Just get a 2 day ticket with Water parks and more which will give them 4 days of fun.

Second shades - room rate is based on rank. If they are booked, ask them for overflow. Generally, they can book you in other WDW resorts. Plus they have military discounts on tickets.

Re: Help trying to get park tickets cheap

We stayed at Shades of Green in 2004 and really enjoyed it. It wasn't a Disney resort but it was beautiful and the rooms are huge and very nice.
