Ticket Prices going up 6/01/03
The bad news is that I was at TDS today and was told that as of 6/01/03 the gate ticket prices at WDW are going up. Now, for the good news. The ticket media purchased in advance will remain at the same price it is at now. It seems WDW is trying to reward those of us that plan with a bit better discount. Mickey

Goofy For Disney

OK, I have a question then. I have a friend from work who has decided to join my son and i for our July 4th trip.( Yeah, the money saved on her part of the room now, can go for a character meal!! ;) )
She needs to buy a pass for herself and her daughter. Now she wants to buy two day park tickets. So on the 4th we'll be at the MK for the morning/afternoon and the 5th we'll be at epcot. Now to the question....can you buy single day tickets in advanced? I just quoted her today what the price will be for tickets and to share the room. :( Now I've got to tell her about the change. I know you can't order them online, and I"m asuming that you can only get them at the gate....but it doens't hurt to ask! ![]()

My understanding is that the One Day/One Park tickets are only available at the specific park ticket counter that you are attending that day and are only good for that day. If you can find a way to get this kind of ticket in advance let me know.
What I would suggest, if money is critical, is to go to one of the "ticket sales" places in the WDW area that re-sell park hopper tickets. People who go to WDW for two or three days and got or had to buy 4 or 5 day park hopper tickets sell their extra days to these places. You can usually get a 5 day park hopper ticket with two days left for a price similar to the one day/one park ticket price. This is a total BUYER BEWARE operation though. I'm not sure about the ethical or legal ramifications of such a transaction. I have never done it. From what I hear though, it's an acceptable practice in the Orlando Area. I have seen these places at gas stations in the open and no one seems to be shutting them down. It must be legal???? Randy :) |

We were able to buy
One day/One park admissions at Coronado Springs on check-in. We bought all six on the day of check-in (my wife and I planned to go to three parks on three different days). Therefore, these did not have to be used on the date of purchase. I'm not sure if you can buy them prior to check-in though.

We are going in ocotober and I have only paid the deposit on our Fairytale package. Will my package price remain the same or will (the ticket portion) of it go up since I have not paid the entire thing off?
Thanks! My plastic might get a work out! |

That stinks, but hey I guess everything goes up right. I was looking through some old photos last night and I came across our admission tickets from 1993 the price on the back was $32.97. I remember thinking that was high when we bought them.:laugh

Call to WDW refutes price increase
I just called WDW to ask about the ticket price increase and was told it wasn't true. The cast member said there were no plans to raise ticket prices at this time.
You never know what might happen, but I guess you have to believe it when you hear it from the Mouse's mouth. After reading the post about ticket prices going up I was surprised I hadn't read anything about it in the Orlando newspaper, which always has a story when there's a price increase. That's when I decided to call. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

YES, THERE IS A TICKET PRICE INCREASE!!
I guess you can't believe everything WDW tells you. I called WDW earlier this evening to ask about a ticket price increase (see my earlier post above) and was told by a cast member that there was no increase scheduled.
Well, I just got an early copy of Saturday morning's Orlando Sentinel, though, and there's a big story in the business section about the ticket increase. According to the story, one-day ticket prices at the four parks are going up $2, to $52 for adults and $42 for children. That's plus tax. The price increase also affects Park Hopper tickets, but not annual passes. Four-day Park Hoppers (front gate price) jump from $199 to $209 and five-day Park Hoppers rise to $269 from $259. Florida resident deals supposedly are unchanged. I must say I'm a little dismayed at getting bad information earlier from the resort itself.:(

I'm fully aware of how many people work at WDW -- and I'm still surprised that a cast member who works on the front lines and is trained to answer questions would be giving out erroneous information. I think we all expect better service from the Mouse -- and outstanding customer service is one of the major things that makes WDW so special to all of us.
