If HS is open for evening extra magic hours, what time is Fantasmic shown? Are there 2 shows in September???

It varies depending on the night . . . and I think the last showing starts right before EMH begins . . . during peak season there are two showings, I do know that!

Someone here will have a better answer I'm sure-you may have to call WDW to see if they can tell you the September schedule . . . because some things vary depending on crowd levels.

You really need to do your own homework on this one. Call it part of your planning. Check the calendar for the days you're going to be in WDW. Hours are posted now for the rest of the year.
On the DHS page of any month, just click on the date you are interested in and there will be a mini listing of parade times and Fantasmic show times. Match this up with the EMH listing. Even some of the busiest times only have one showing a night. It also has a lot to do with what time the park is closing and what time sunset occurs.

There is EMH on 9/8...if I remember right last year they had it at 7:30 and 10.

Actually, the night in question there are no EMH, it was morning and I got excited...it is the Night of Joy and the park closes at 6. Oh, well, we have now totally rearranged so that we can fit in Fantasmic And evening EMH at Animal Kingdom...took a couple of hours to figure out, but now We're Good. (loved every agonizing minute of it!)

Yes they do have EMH on 9/8 - any idea how long they are? This is now when we are going to catch Fantasmic...we have and ADR for Boma at 4:45...do you think we can get back to HS for Fantasmic? I guess if not the first show, the second.

We are doing most of our ADRs at resorts, thus allowing us to change our day schedule without messing us up to bad for dinners...

All evening EMH sessions last for three hours after the park's regular closing time. If DHS were to close at 10, on an EMH night, it would close for resort guests at 1 AM. There have been times that MK was open until 1 AM with an EMH after, meaning that MK closes at 4 AM and a morning EMH the next day at 8 AM!! This means that effectively, the MK didn't really close.

On 9/8, DHS is officially closing at 8 PM, so the EMH will end at 11 PM.
As noted, all of September has only one Fantasmic each night. This is because the scheduled closing time for the entire month is 8 PM and full darkness doesn't really happen until around 8.
In the winter months, they can actually have Fantasmic at 6:30 and on party nights in the MK, they will run Wishes when the park closes at 6 or 6:30, and then have the special party fireworks at 9:30.

On 9/8, Fantasmic is scheduled for 8:30. I'd suggest trying to be in line for Fantasmic no later than 8 PM, perhaps even 7:45. If you allow yourself 45 minutes to get from AKL to DHS by bus, I'd guess you'll be OK if you are at the AKL bus station no later than 7 PM.

One final warning about dining at resorts other than your own. Remember that you can't get from one resort to another directly, you'll have to transfer through DTD or whatever park is still open. If you are planning dinner around dinner time and then returning to a park and finally going back to your own hotel, you should be fine.
