OK, we have been convinced.

We have changed our trip from June to Oct.. Going to stay at Fort Wilderness CG. Question is I have heard that getting to the parks other than MK can be a problem riding the bus? Has anyone stayed there and have any info on this, and are you better off just driving to the other parks and paying the parking fee?

Thanks,

Kevin

Parking at the theme parks is free for WDW Resort guests.

The bus transportation to the parks from Ft Wilderness takes just a bit longer than from the other resorts., mostly due to guests needing to take an internall FtW bus to Pioneer hall bus area dn then transferring to another bus which will take you to the parks. It is not as bad as some people make it out to be.

The several times I have stayed at FtW, we have always used WDW transportation and been happy with it. Most kids view the bus rides as part of the overall fun anyways.

If you are driving down,I would drive where you need to go. I would rather go where I want when I want and not have to wait 20 minutes for a bus.

I've stayed at the Ft. Wilderness Campground twice, and never had a problem with the transportation. I think you do need to transfer like Jmouse said in order to get out of the campground (because the CG has it's own internal bus system that takes you around just CG property). If you don't feel like going threw the transfers, or you need to rush to a park for a PS then I would suggest driving. On a side note, my family usually doesn't drive the car until we leave, we just like to totally relax when at Disney and let someone else do the driving, literally, lol:p .

Hey Bama Family. I am also from Alabama. I have been 5 times in June and as long as you go the first part of the month it is not so bad. And being from here you are pretty used to heat and humidity. But, this year for the first time I am going in October too! WAR EAGLE!!!!
