Wow, have things changed since your last visit. I went in March for the first time since 1999 and it had changed in those 4 years quite a bit. But never fear the same Disney magic is always in effect.

Hey Joyce, welcome to DC! Like the others said, alot has changed in the past six years, you'll find new things all over the place and some of the things you remember will be gone:cry: . Even a whole new theme park has opened in the past 6 year! There for the whole Animal Kingdom will be new to you so you've got alot of exploring to do! lol. I can't remember off the top of my head what some of the recent attractions have been, but I recomend you go and pick up Birnbaums WDW guide 2003, that way you can read up on everything that's changed in the "world!" Welcome aboard agian and happy planning!
Joe:)

Our family's favorite thrill rides (in order):
1. Rockin' Rollercoaster 2. Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 3. Space Mountain 4. Star Tours 5. Test Track 6. Thunder Mountain Railroad.
(Of course, this was a highly unscientific poll.)
BTW: We are going back in August, taking advantage of that GREAT Fairytale pkg. We have always used the Birnbaum book, but the other day I picked up a Passporter and it's great! You might want to try it.
ANYWAY: Hope you have a great time. Of course you will -- who wouldn't???

I agree about the Passporter. I have never read BIRNBAUM, but I absolutely LOVE the Passporter. You can check it out on PASSPORTER.COM. It's great, I plan on getting it for every trip! It's a great keepsake, it has so many pockets and places to plan everything for your trip and even pages for journaling during your trip! ;)

The Biggest Thrill

This may sound corny, but I personally think the greatest thrill ride at WDW is the Monorail trip to the Magic Kingdom. I am the most charged when I step onto it because of the thrill and anticipation of what is at the other end. It reminds me of being a kid on Christmas Eve a long time ago. To see MK getting closer and closer sends me over the edge.

The other rides that people mentioned are okay too;)

Welcome to DC!

Randy:)

Before you go I would get a copy of the Unofficial Guide book. It is fantastic. It will tell you about all the rides and attractions and what you can expecit at each. It has tips on touring the parks, like times and days, and rates all the restraunts. My favorite thing is the Tower of Terror with the Rock n Roll roller coaster a very close second... and I am 50 years young! Have a ball and soak up the magic!

ACTUALLY.....
I think the biggest thrill each time we go to WDW is seeing Cinderella's Castle in the distance for the first time.... I still get goosebumps.

what's new in Disney

We went in 98 then just got back in May 2003. The new things they had in Disney were Rock n Roll Roller Coaster (MGM)which was fabulous! It was the biggest thrill I had there! My husband and I went on but the kids were afraid and waited for us to get off.
My husband and son did the Tower of terror, but my son lost his favorite baseball cap out the window during the ride!! Don't wear a hat on that ride!
Test track(Epcot) was fun also, we all did that twice. My son is a big race car fan (age 12) so he really loved it!
You will also not want to miss the Animal Kingdom, and the shows there are excellent. The Lion King Show, Wild Bird show and Tarzan Rock nRoll show were above and beyond my expectations.
There are alot of other new things but those stand out in my mind. Carousel of Progress(MK) and the Great Movie Ride(MGM) were closed when I was there for renovations, which we were a bit dissappointed about. Especcially my daughter (age9) who LOVED Carousel of Progress the best when we were there last time.
We stayed for 10 days this last time and it still was not long enough! The good part was there was alot of down time for my hubby since he needs his rest and relaxation, he is not the Disney fan, like I am!:hmmm But he makes the best of it!
Have fun exploring on your trip!

Definitely get a tour book. But also check out the official Disney site. They have a function where you put in when you last visited the park and they tell you all the things that have changed since then. I think this would be a GREAT place for you to start! :)
