You're right, 9 would still be perfect.
His first time was at 2 1/2 and he remembered everything, even little details that we had no pictures of and none of us ever talked about. So I took him again last year, just me and him, it was the best trip! Now he's 4 and we're going next month, I can't wait to see how he reacts and what he says this time!
My DH and I agreed we wouldn't go again for several years, but it's so hard to not want to take the little guy more often when he talks about all the little things from his own memory and perspective!

That must be so special for your Mom, I love when I see people there on their bdays with the pins and all. That is the best way to spend your bday IMHO!
My husband went 3 yrs ago to WDW with our oldest son for a school band performance, and he was at Magic Kingdom on his actual birthday--I was so jealous because I'm the bigger Disney fan! And a few years before that we were in Calif. (for a funeral), and spent his birthday in San Francisco (where I'm from, my favorite place other than Disney!)! He's so spoiled!
