It is not worth missing. I don't know about for a 5 year old since I have no children.

Re: Christmas at EPCOT

The first year we went during that time, my kids were 4 and 6. They sat through it, but, they said they didn't like that part of Epcot. I think if the story is an important part of your life, you will like it a lot more. We have never done it again since that first trip.

Re: Christmas at EPCOT

When my DD was five we went to the CP at EPCOT. We were staying at the POLY, we left her at the neverland club. We really enjoyed it. DD had a great time at Neverland. I am sure she would have sat through it. But I do not think she would have enjoyed it- as much as we did!

Re: Christmas at EPCOT

I have missed it every year since I've been going up to WDW during the holidays. But that's just me. I just haven't gotten around to it, and it also depends on who the narrator is that night whether I'll finally catch it, or not. I think you should take your kids and watch.

Re: Christmas at EPCOT

We're going this year . . . I got the dinner package, so this way we are closer to the action (if you want this you better call asap, I understand the packages are going quickly) I have two girls 8 and 4!

I think they will enjoy it . . . two years ago we were there at Xmas time, and we just saw all the choir walking to the theater, and that held my girls attention for awhile.

I was told its only an hour long, so I think a 5 year old can sit through that.

Pick up one of the holiday kidcot masks and tuck some crayons in your bag, if she gets antsy have her color!

My son (9) didn't enjoy it but he sat through it because I wanted to see it. I think it something you should see at least once.

He was bored. It's like sitting in a wonderful church service, I enjoyed it but my son didn't. However, he was old enough to sit through it and handle it just fine. Even at 5 my son would have been fine sitting through it he just woudln't have enjoyed it but that's my son.

That pretty much sums it up. A church service at Disney. The kids and I were bored, but, the wife was pushing to do it because it was important to her. We sat there for an hour and we haven't nor will we ever do it again.

Re: Christmas at EPCOT

Our entire famiy really enjoyed it (range of ages 63-11). In fact, our group of 12 is going back in December...we already have our ADR package. I think it just depends on your family and what they enjoy...we're pretty luck tho, regardless of their age our kids have always enjoyed shows of all types.
If you're afraid your children won't sit still long enough, go with Mickeysgirlz suggestion of the mask and crayons. My personal opinion...don't miss it and even if your child doesn't totally enjoy it, it's good for them to be exposed to something new!

I agree. I wouldn't skip it because my son was a bit bored. It's an hour of the trip, he lived through it. We're a family and we all get to pick things we want to do, the vacation is for all of us.

Re: Christmas at EPCOT

I no longer have little ones, but my guess is that a child under 7 will be bored after the first 15 minutes or so. It's a wonderful experience, just not for young ones.
