Typhoon Lagoon Snorkling

I was wondering if anyone knows about snorkling at Typhoon Lagoon. Do they have snorkling gear to rent? Or do you have to bring your own stuff? What is the snorkling like? Is it a big area? How much is the gear to rent ?

This Disney web site indicates that they provide all the gear for snorkling.

We did this several years ago. They provided the equipment. You get it out of these big buckets that have sanitizing stuff in it. You get to swim back and forth across this rather small pool and look at the fish. When we went it was not that crowded and we got to stay in about 5 minutes. There were some sharks and some very pretty unusual fish. I hope you have fun. I think Typhoon Lagoon is much better than Blizzard Beach.

I did this several years ago. They provided all the equipment, but I didn't think mine fit very well. I had no previous snorkeling experience, the pool was very crowded and they made you swim from one end to the other with very little viewing time. I spent most of the time trying to remember how to breathe. I would not do it again. It might be better if its not crowded. Good luck.:)

Gear is available and free to use. You start at one end of pool and cannot turn around. Must swim (float) to the other side of pool. As long as you do not turn around and go backwards they will not push you along to much, as long as it is not really crowded. It's a cool experience but don't expect to much. Pretty small area, about 30' x 30' but the viewing is good while your doing it. You should do it.

Snorkeling Typhoon Lagoon

My son snorkled there last month when we were there. The equipment was free. He kept hopping back on line and doing it again, he loved it and wanted to stay all day right there! They give a quick talk through, for those who have never used a snorkel and mask, then you just go! It is a one way pool though, no turning around! Then you get out at the other end, and since it was not crowded he would just get right back on line an do it again. He felt like an adventurer! I could go down under the abandoned ship next to the water and look through the port holes and watch him from under water, too! It was neat! :)

We did this in March and it was a really great experinece EXCEPT it was crowded and some people don't follow directions! You see they tell you to swim with your arms only because of the number of people, some people don't listen and I got kicked several times. I did go back thru the line and did again, it is really neat.

snorkeling

All I remember about the experience is that the water is very cold! The fish were pretty but the pool was small.

I agree, the water is COLD! But-we had a blast! I was swimming along and lost track of my DH. I looked back and all I saw were his feet standing on one of thoses little islands. His snorkle was not on right and filled with water. :dazed He had a good laugh at himself!! So did I! HeeHee.:D
Try it, you'll like it!

Thanks for all the info and tips. We have snorkled before and my DH LOVED it, however, it was in a huge lagoon in Mexico, but I think he will want to try it no matter what. We snorkled for hours in Mexico. It sounds like it would be a great place to introduce our kids to snorkling. Thanks again for the info. Can't wait to go!! :laugh
