Actually, yeah, I am thinking about waiting until next August. I just really hate being cold, and the thoughts of my oldest, who is the most cold-natured person in the world being miserable because she's chilly, makes me realize that we just need to wait. I LOVE hot weather! DH and the kids LOVE hot weather. We usually take our trips in August or September, so we know what we'd be getting into.

And I hate putting lots of clothes on! I despise winter because I don't enjoy being bundled up at all. I'd rather be dripping wet with sweat than wearing a coat in WDW.

Well us Floridians (the ones I know anyway!) do not SWIM in January . . . but when our relatives from England were visiting, they went swimming, while we sat an watched with hoddies on! Cuz for them . . . 70ish was HOT compared to the winter in England they had just left . . . so really, it's all what you are used too!

(Another example-went to a BBQ on 4th of July in NJ . . . I was fine sitting outside and chatting, but most everyone else was DYING from the heat, and had to go into the A/C . . . which I found too cool!)

It's interesting how it's all realitive isn't it? We live in Charlotte, and it's usually in the 90's here this time of year. Today it's been pretty cool--upper 80's and the kids FROZE at the pool! We'd been having temps near 100 earlier this week and it was fabulous!

Re: Tell me about the weather . . .

We were in WDW in January '07 and I definately remember it being pretty warm. I never worn anything long sleeve and it was still pretty humid and warm, especially during the day. I saw the pictures from that trip the other day and every picture, even at night, we were wearing short sleeves and either shorts or a skirt (for me, haha). There were pics of me in the pool too so I am assuming it never got that chilly.

Re: Tell me about the weather . . .

Temps are very nice that time of year. I have gone in January twice and it's the perfect time to go to WDW. I found dressing is layers worked best. Light sweatshirt or jacket in the mornings or afternoon was all we needed both times. that jacked came off by 1pm as it's warm enough to go without. You will be fine and the not so hot temps is a great trade off for ZERO lines..well after MLK days weekend and that monday which is insanely busy.

Re: Tell me about the weather . . .

I'm so glad someone asked about this because that's when we will be there next! We are arriving the Tuesday after MLK day! I knew better than to go that weekend. Plus the airfares were more to fly that weekend/day!!!

I think it's going to be a nice change being there and not sweating my behind off!!! Although we went the first week of Feb this past year and it was quite warm and we swam everyday!!!! But up here in PA it was snowing!!! We'll most likely swim if it's even in the upper 70's!! My DD does now, up here!!!! Thank goodness for heated pools!

Okay, so maybe I should rethink again! You make some great points.

Are you cold natured? Hot natured? We're all pretty cold natured, so, like DH says, it could be 60 degrees, and we're all freezing--the kids and me.

Re: Tell me about the weather . . .

For those of us who live down here, 50 is freezing. We get a few days where it gets into the 30's, but, once the sun comes up, it rarely stays in the 40's, usually winding up in the 50's. That's really your worst case scenario temperature wise. Also, when it gets that cold, it rarely rains. I have seen more days where it reaches the high 60's to the low 70's in January during the days and see it drop into the 50's at night than anything else though.

Re: Tell me about the weather . . .

I have been in January quite a bit and the weather isn't bad if you are from the northern parts of the US. I wear shorts and a short sleeved shirt until it gets below 60 and then a jacket or sweatshirt goes on but the shorts stay which is good considering WDW has a thing against nudists. Seriously you can have 80 one day and 50 the next. I do have to say my parents who winter in Cocoa Beach get a kick out of calling and saying that they had to wear a jacket today because it was in the 60's and I am sitting there with below zero windchill and a foot of snow in Michigan. What a tough life!
