what do you do if it rains?

Ok so we are going in august and heck the heat there in august from everything I have read is nothing compared to what its like in Texas .. and we sure dont have the rain in august. But stealing another idea for a thread ..this time from goofygal1975, who had posted that the storms knocked out the systems today at WDW.
I wondered what everyone does when it rains at the parks.
personally we just put on the ponchos and keep going ..only a couple of times have we had to really take shelter due to storms, because most of the time they pass so quick. ok dont anyone hit me for this but we always hope everyone else will leave the park *grin* if it rains.

We do the ponchos and keep going, or if it gets too bad, we either go eat at a sit down restaurant (if it's about that time), or we go to Disney Quest!!! :D

We do ponchos, too!

I can handle the heat, but that humidity there is horrible! The rain is welcome in my opinion. It also runs the crowds away, and the rain usually doesn't last that long. Then when the rain lifts, *poof* the crowds are gone!

You just have to be like the "ENGIZER BUNNY", and just keep on going!! Keep those poncho's handy, because I'm sure you will need them!!
I also feel, that the heat I can take, but the humidity is sometimes just awful!!!
Had heat & humidity when we were there in May. Glad we did, because since we've been back from DW, our weather here in Chicago has not been the greatest... So, I feel we did get a taste of summer, and where better place to have that happen, of course DW!!!! JOANN:)

Ponchos Ponchos Ponchos Ponchos Ponchos...... The funny about this and I just realized this now is that both times that we got stuck in a "DOWNPOUR" was while we were waiting on line for splash mountain. Kinda doesnt make sense to get even more wet......But ya know we went on since we were allready wet.... :D

Well the last time we were at WDW (last July) it rained quite a bit. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO we got ponchos and just treked around in the rain. It was the usual quick showers but on our last full day it POURED almost the entire day. We hit EPCOT and went around the world in our ponchos, we had a blast even in the rain!:)

Ponchos, yes. We were at Epcot one year to see Illuminations, and we stepped out of Captain Eo a drop hit us. 'Oh, one of those quick downpours' we told ourselves. Over an hour before the show started, plenty of time.

Not. We watched Illuminations (the ONLY time we've ever been able to see it!) in an absolute Drenching downpour. After the show, we took off our shoes and socks and waded through puddles that were 6 or 7 inches deep to the bus stop. It rained all night and only stopped the next morning.

Drowned lol.....

We'll see Illuminations this year, we have reserved seating, whatever that is! Hopefully not in the rain!!

Ponchos

Thank goodness for the poncho!
Last year it started raining while we were in MGM.
We put on our ponchos and away we went!:) :)
It was funny watching people run :!: :!:
You would
think they never saw rain before:!: :p :p
It usually clears up quickly.

Epcot is a great place to be when it rains! There are so many large pavillions to go into. We have spent a few hours in the land and Journey into Imagination. Of course you must have ponchos. It might be good to get your ponchos before you go. When it rains in DW eveyone just about has on the same color ponchos and you might loose your kids! As others have said there is a silver lining with rain, many people leave!

Ponchos are a must during the rainy summer months in FL.
We always pack ours, and usually keep on going. The only thing that sends us under cover is those nasty FL lightning storms. They come fast and furious at times.

The sign of a true WDW fan is the ability to "do it in the rain":D

It really depends on how much & severe it is. Generally, just throw on the ponchos (which I always have stashed in our backpack) & keep going or hide in an attraction for awhile. Land is a great place to go in EPCOT, as is Imagination. Of course no matter what park you're in there are ALWAYS the shops!!!!! (Twist my arm!):laugh :laugh

We too put on the ponchos and brave the rain. Here's a tip some of you may not know.... If you buy your poncho from WDW and it rips, just take it to any place that sells them and they'll give you another one at no charge. You don't have to have a receipt or anything!

The stroller cover like the one pictured here works great and is only $9.99. They don't have any in stock but I've seen them at the local Babies R Us. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...=glance&s=baby

Dab, although they don't have this online, they DO have them in the Babies R Us stores and they are better than this one. They offer great mesh venting on both sides...and it's still only $9.99! I just bought one, from Graco...
