I had to change our schedule around quite a bit as DH found out that Henry Rollins is going to be at The House of Blues during our trip and he just had to get tickets. So...

We are now going to MNSSHP on Tuesday, Sept. 23. Our tickets arrived in the mail this week. Yay!

Here's my dilemma...

I had originally planned on going to DHS on the 23rd, staying there all day, and ending the night with Fantasmic, so I booked ADR's. Our new plans, however, have us going to DHS for the morning/afternoon, going to Fantasmic the night before, and leaving for MNSSHP in the evening.

My question is this....

I have an ADR at 50's PTC at 5:40 pm at DHS the night of MNSSHP. Should I keep this and get to MNSSHP around 7 pm or 8 pm? Or do you think I should just cancel this ADR and go to MK early?

I would see if you can reschedule it for a late lunch and head to the MK around 5pm to get your party bands. You can just grab counter service later in the night or a snack if you are hungry. I wouldn't arrive for the party that late. HAving gone twice, I have foudn it less hectic to arrive super early.

Just go. 50's is fine, but you won't enjoy your meal if your rushing...

I would try and change the time of 50s to earlier in the day......I myself like getting to the MK for MNSSHP at about 4 or 5. That way you don't have to worry about rushing at the Studios..and you can beat most of the people for the party.

Unless anyone has anything totally awesome to say about 50's, I will most likely cancel. I already have a lunch ADR at 11:00 am at Sci-Fi, so moving 50's PTC to an earlier time really wouldn't work.

I think you should cancel and keep the lunch ADR. Go back to the resort after and get ready for the party and take your time. It's a long night...fun, but long.

Well, that's all settled. I cancelled my ADR for 50's PTC. Hopefully, we will be able to squeeze this restaurant in on a future trip. I thought it would be a fun atmosphere, but I hadn't heard the best reviews on the food, so I am not too bummed. Besides, I don't know how relaxed I'd feel during dinner. I'd be afraid not to eat all my veggies.

I also rescheduled my Spirit of Aloha Polynesian Luau. If anyone has been looking to book an ADR for Fri., Sept. 26 at 8:00 pm, there is a category 2 opening right now.

You are going to be so happy that you cancelled this. Not because it's not a great meal, but because you won't feel rushed through it. That place isn't going there and you should add it to you "must do's" next trip.

I'd say Cancel that dinner ADR at DHS and go to MK, and do a CS or book an early ADR there.

You dont want to get to MK too late and miss anything!

I would have canceled the ADR like you did. You would have felt so rushed to get done and get to the MK that you wouldn't have enjoyed it like you should. The night is so fun and there's so much to do that you need to get so you can get started. Have a nice lunch and then get ready for the party.

You made a GREAT decision!

Getting to the park around 5pm, allows you to walk slowly up Main Street, and do some rides . . . then around the 7pm mark, head to the back of the park and grab a snack and stake a place out in Frontierland for the parade. Then after it's over work your way around - hitting the treat spots and special events.

You'll be surprised how "alone" you are going to be back there, as all the daily people are leaving and hard ticket event holders haven't made it to that part of the park yet . . . the PARADE is one of the best . . . and if you wait on Main Street, you lose a lot of time, as the parade takes awhile to get too you and there are too many lights . . . it's darker back in Frontierland! Which makes for a BETTER parade ambiance. IMHO!

Dana is right . . . this is the BEST event EVER! This will be our 4th year attending and we CAN'T WAIT! BOO TO YOU!
