Carrying things

How should I carry things around the parks? I think the only things I'll carry along with me during the day are a water bottle, sunglasses, and a camera and film. What do you think I should carry those in? Do you think I should bring anything else? I can't think of really what else I would need, since I'm gonna be solo.

We always take a backpack to the parks with us. We have all the things you are taking plus rain gear and a few small snacks. You may want to think about a fanny pack since you seem to have so little. The fanny packs are just not our style and are not large enough for rain ponchos.

If you're traveling solo, stay lean, mean and mobile. You don't need to cart around a bunch of stuff. What you've already mentioned is fine. You might want to get a water bottle strap, and don't forget to have some sunblock to keep from getting cooked in the Florida sun.

I agree, get a water bottle strap or just buy the water at the parks. If you can skip the Backpack, do so, it will save you excess to carry around and keep you from the bag checks at each park. Do not plan on refilling a water bottle with Fountain or tap water, it is horrible, that's why I suggest buying your water, one less thing to tote all day.

What's a water bottle strap? I think I'll mostly refill with fountain water, that's all I did last time. I was fine, I'm not picky. Water costs way too much down there.

OK, if you can handle it, then use the water bottle. :D

I'll let someone more knowlegeabe answer the strap question.

A water bottle strap is a little gadget that you attach to the neck of your disposable water bottle so that you can put it around your neck and carry it hands free. You can buy the strap in any of the parks. I've never looked in retail stores in the real world, but you can probably find them there, too.

You may need a suitcase!!! LOL

You sound like me, we still carry a diaper bag and my son is 5. Don't worry, we leave it in the car, no self respecting 5 year old would be caught digging in a diaper bag in public!!!

Carry in Parks

I suggest a fanny pack. Not popular today, but definitely functional. Also, if you can find one of those squirt water bottles with a fan, better to purchase it at home (Wal Mart) for a few dollars and bring it, than to get it at WDW for many $$$.
And while at Wal Mart, buy camera film and an extra camera battery. Film at WDW is very expensive.
If you're planning a water park visit, buy beach shoes and a floatable car key holder. Take your keys with you when you swim and don't worry about them sinking. Try to get the holder about the size of a cigarette pack, and you can put your room key, and your park passes in it too.

Hmm.. I guess I should include sunblock, a poncho, and maybe some flip-flops for the wet rides... don't wanna walk around in wet sneakers... ewww. I'm thinking that's not all gonna fit in a fanny pack now, is it?

Our first trip my DW bought Brita water bottles with a small filter on the top. We would fill them with water in the hotel room, put them in the fridge (We had a two year old at the time so we had a fridge for milk and food) adn then took them to the parks during the day. The water was OK and we didn't have to buy bottled water!

OK so the next two trips we bought bottled water because we didn't have a fridge to chill the water over night.:)

I would definately say a fanny pack. With a backpack you need to take it off for rides and to get something out. I recently bought a nice one at the Eddie Bauer store that has a lot of different compartments so I can safely put my $ and park pass in its own zipper pocket. Along with sunglasses, small camera, sunscreen, lip balm and ponchos - don't forget bandaids for any blisters! I second the water bottle strap!! What I found on our last trip was if I didn't feel like carrying a 1/2 filled bottle I threw it away - what a waste! But once I bought the strap I could just have my bottle hanging from my neck with easy access!!
