I thought of another question

I THINK this is the last question I have before we leave.

At ToT - Youngest DGS isn't sure if he wants to ride it or not. He keeps waffleing back and forth. We won't try to talk him into it but if he decides he doesn't want to ride, can he and I still go in and look around the grounds, lobby, etc. while DH and oldest DGS ride?

I know you can go up to the lobby .. you might just go right on in as if you were going to ride and change your mind at the last minute saying the youngest doesnt want to ride. that way you can at least get in the lobby ..but from the doors to the elevators your in a line, and not able to just walk in and look around. who knows the yougest might decide he does want to ride at the last minute :) did this make sense?

There is a que that wraps before you actually get into the lobby area. If you want to wait in line to go inside and back out that wouldn't be a problem. Once you're inside the lobby they take you into a small room where you watch a Twilight Zone show on TV . You could go to that point and back out too. From there, you go into another que area that makes you feel like you're in the boiler room... dark with steam sounds and lots of pipes. My 4 1/2 yr old rode it for the first time a year ago and it didn't scare her then. Our last trip (age 4) she got a little spooked by some teenage girls screaming and jumping during the Twilight Zone show. There is a part when it thunders and the lights flicker off. She doesn't have concept of what ghosts are so we told her that the "ghost like figures" were magic people and asked her to see how many magic people she could find. She never thought it was scary. The drop didn't bother her either because she couldn't see it like you can in a roller coaster. All she knew was that her tummy tickled and she was bouncing! I hope you get to ride it! It is such a fun ride!

Have a great trip! I'll be thinking of you and waiting for that trip report!

Tink & dab, Thanks for the info.

DGS is 8 and generally a pretty adventuresome kid - he rides 4-wheelers better than a lot of adults, climbs rocks like they were nothing, scares me to death on playgrounds with jungle gyms, etc.

He was disappointed at Easter time when we went to Branson because he still wasn't tall enough to ride Wild Fire (a roller coaster with a 15-story drop).

But for some reason he hasn't looked forward to our flight (probably too many news stories after 9/11) and he's said he's not sure about ToT. I think once he was inside he might change his mind but we sure won't talk him into going.

DGD loved ToT! She had just turned 6. She wasn't scared of it at all but the HM scared her to death! Every child is different and reacts differently. When he sees it he might think it is really cool(which it it). Has he seen the made for TV movie fashioned after the ride with Steve Guttenburg? Maybe you could rent it and watch it so he would understand the story behind the ride.
