hi all,
well, I have spoken to different family members and gotten different answers - so I have decided to come here and ask the "pros". Originally I was going to bring the double stroller since I was going solo, but my SIL has volunteered to come and join the fun. So now, should I bring a double stroller (graco with huge basket) for both my kiddos or bring my graco single stroller (big basket) with an umbrella stroller???? Both of my kids nap during the afternoon for a few hours, so I was going to take one day at a time - to decide on going back to the resort for nap time, or let them nap in the stroller while we stroll the parks. thanks so much for your suggestions margaret |

Re: Okay, I need your suggestions here - double stroller or 2 single strollers
With two adults I would definitely opt for two single strollers. It's easier to just stop and look at things in stores and meet up a few minutes later
![]() Besides, it gives the other adult something to hang on to while walking ![]()

Re: Okay, I need your suggestions here - double stroller or 2 single strollers
Honestly, I think it is really your personal choice. I hate the double stroller, mine is one in front of the other. I've never used one that is side by side. But I have the hardest time maneuvering that thing around and know it would drive me crazy in Disney. So if yours works great for you then you could both take turns and someone would be able to take a brake from pushing one. Or the singles are a ighter load but you would both be pushing one all the time.
If you were to ride rides solo and 1 stay with the kids, I think a double would be MUCH better because you wouldn't be stuck in one spot unable to push 2 strollers. Hope I helped! Have a great trip. What does the sister going think?

If they are used to being in the double stroller, take that. Why bring two?

if they can both nap at the same time in the double (both can lean back at the same time) I would take that one. That way they can both nap while you stroll the parks.

Re: Okay, I need your suggestions here - double stroller or 2 single strollers
As a Mother of teenagers, it's been a long time since we had the old strollers out, but on our last trip to MK, we saw a couple having a heck of a time trying to maneuver their double stroller through the crowds when a parade was going through. Then everyone behind them was backing up because they couldn't get around them. I'm thinking it would be less stressful taking a single stroller.

Re: Okay, I need your suggestions here - double stroller or 2 single strollers
Take the double. I have done both and I thing the double is much easier. Mine is a side by side and DH is the people mover. He gets in front of me during parade or firework time to move people out of my way. I have run over some feet, but they were warned to move. One of youcan man the stroller and the other can man the kids!

Re: Okay, I need your suggestions here - double stroller or 2 single strollers
If you are staying at a Disney Resort I would suggest the single strollers. It is much easier getting on and off the bus when it is crowded with the single strollers, particularly if one or both of your children has fallen asleep! We often brought our own single strollers, but in recent years started renting one from Disney. I checked the website and a multiple day stroller rental is $13 for a single one, $27 for a double. While we don't like spending money we don't have to, we found that for us, it was worth it to pay out for a single stroller. It's one less thing for us to pack in the car. We like to park hop so we just leave it at one park and get another at the next park.

Re: Okay, I need your suggestions here - double stroller or 2 single strollers
It seems you are getting a mix of advice here. Here is my 2 cents worth.
Will your SIL be with you the entire time? Or will she want to have a morning to herself? If not I would bring both strollers. It will be so much easier to get around shops and thru turnstiles. I think two strollers are a must if you are using WDW buses. You have to get the kids out and fold the stroller in order to ride the bus. Holding on to a huge double stroller, while trying also trying to hold onto two children would be tough. If you have two umbrella strollers, I would bring them, vs a big one and an umbrella. They have umbrellas that have reclining seats and large baskets to use, and it would be much easier to do that, than try to use a large stroller. That way, it is easy for you, but the kids can still be comfortable and nap as needed. I have a Chicco that I love, that has been to WDW 3 times now, and getting ready to go on our fourth trip with us. Our youngest has napped very well in it many times. Good luck in your decision. Sounds like you have lots of good advice in this thread.

Re: Okay, I need your suggestions here - double stroller or 2 single strollers
I just thought of something else, if you bring a two umbrella strollers, you could get on of those clamp things that can clamp them together side by side, so that they can essentially be used as a double stroller. That way, you have the best of both worlds, a single when you need it, and a double when you want it!

Re: Okay, I need your suggestions here - double stroller or 2 single strollers
I think you should take two single strollers. It seems (to me) that it would make it a bit easier to do your own thing and it would be slightly easier on you too!

Double wide stroller. For the monorail you are guided to the handicap spot and therefore little to no wait to get on the monorail. Both kids can equally see without complaining someones head is in the way or the stroller canapy. Bigger basket is easier for items.

Re: Okay, I need your suggestions here - double stroller or 2 single strollers
We have twins and when they were little, we used the double side-by-side at WDW and it was fine. It folded easily for transporting on & off the bus, the seats reclined in the event of a needed nap and it had a wonderful huge basket to hold all of our goodies, change of clothes for the kids, water bottles, etc. I also liked that the kids were together, so they could see and experience everything at the same time (even experience each others excitement) and if DH or myself needed to run to get fast passes or a snack or potty break w/out kids it was easier for the other to maneuver 1 stroller rather than 2. Also easier to find one stroller after a ride or a show when you come back to the stroller parking lot and find that the CM's have moved things around.
It's a personal preference, just make sure your kids are comfortable riding in it. How old are your kids?

Re: Okay, I need your suggestions here - double stroller or 2 single strollers
We have never used our double stroller at WDW because we think it would be a pain to get on and off the busses. In fact, we use an umbrella-style stroller that has a mesh basket thing underneath and our little one can lie all the way back in, it but folds up very compactly like an umbrella stroller and has a carrying strap. I'd hate to have to deal with my huge double stroller in Disney!

Re: Okay, I need your suggestions here - double stroller or 2 single strollers
Hi all,
Thanks for the great pointers. My SIL is coming over tomorrow to check out the double stroller - to see if she can manage it. My kiddos are 14 months and soon to be 3. They both love the double stroller, I use it all the time around town. I thought about the single stroller with an umbrella stroller - because of the getting in and out of the bus - it'll be lighter. I was leaning more towards the double stroller, because if my son decides to walk or run and check out Power Rangers, one can follow him and one can push the double stroller with my daughter sitting in it. As for my SIL she is going to do her own things, when I have my family things to go to (ie. Birthday dinner, etc.). The double stroller might be a little heavy to get in and out of the bus, but other than that it's fine. I guess both ways, has it pros and cons. I'll keep you posted on what we used and how it worked out. thanks, margaret |
