Grab Bags??

Hi all! I dont know if this belongs here or not.

I wanted to ask a question about grab bags. My kids love to buy the brown paper bags filled with things that you dont know whats inside untill you open. I was just wondering IF you ever purchased one what did your kids find inside and do you think they are worth it?

My kids bought one at Mickeys Mart and inside was some stickers,deck of cards, puzzle and some other things.

they had these at dtd the 10dollar and under store..they were sooo worth the money..but they dont do them anymore!!!
But, i think it depends on where..like at dollar tree, for instance, no its a bunch of garbage!!
This is just my opinion of course!!!

I was really talking about the ones in Disney World. When I was there in May they had them.

Wait a minute, I could have SWORN I saw them in that DTD $10/under store when I was there in late August. Maybe I am dreaming but I could have SWORN I looked at the bags and thought, "hmm, that's cool, I wonder what's in there?"

They were there in May. I wanted to see what other MBers have rec when looking into their bags. My daughters wanted to get them again but are they really worth it??

We saw them but didn't purchase them. I just figured it would be more junk. I would also love to hear if it had anything good in it.

I saw them LAST August. I thought they were a cool idea! But since I am not a gambler by nature, I avoid buying stuff like that. I always wonder what's in them, but figure if I end up buying them, I'd be the one to get the one with junk in it.

My kids thought they were pretty cool. So we tried them. Inside they found a deck of cards, a disney princess cup, a pin lanyard ( no pins ) and a bunch of little other stuff I can't remember. But those were the big things. A fun gamble for 10.00

My kids usually like the suprise of those bags. Unfortunately, they are now too old and would probably prefer something else. Of course, I could just buy the bag!

If I had kids I think I would try it, why not on a rainy day. If anything the contents will keep them busy while you're shopping in DtD & maybe entertain them on the bus ride back to the resort. I am assuming they probably stuff those bags with overstock from that little store they are in. At least you know it will be Disney stuff!

Yes I agree, next time I'm sure I'll buy one. Especially since it is all Disney stuff.

Im pretty sure I saw them in Aug this year at the $10 and under store but maybe Im imagining things

DW will buy grab bag pins from time to time. I don't really gamble with my purchases any more. If I want something, I buy it. I don't need to lay my money down on a surprise package, only to be surprised with stuff I don't want or need, regardless of how little it cost.

Speaking of gambles, in 2005, there was a 50th anniversary HO electric train replica of the WDW/Disneyland railroad. I gambled that it would be available into the forseeable future. It wasn't available by mid 2006 and I lost that gamble.

I wouldn't buy one either, we have enough junk--why get more stuff you may not want or need. I would rather spend money on something I know my son wants and not something that will never get played with or worse yet--get tossed as soon as we get home.

My SIL bought each of my kids one in Jan when we were there and they got an antenna topper, and a deck of cards and a little notebook, and some stickers and one had a fridge magnet. Definately worth more than the cost of the bag, but not all of it was stuff for them to play with. They did say they wanted to get them again when we go back next year....
