Hall of Presidents closed in December for refurb.

I noticed this just now while looking at the schedule for Dec 16.
Of course this makes perfect sense! They'll have to close the Hall of Presidents so they can move the George W. animatronic from it's current place, install and program the new McCain or Obama animatronic, and then choreograph the new version of the show and have it all ready to go in time for the inauguration on Jan 20.

Anyway, I am certain the Imagineers are working on both Obama and McCain animatronics right now and the final construction of the winner will be started on the day after the election. They won't be able to build a common frame because Obama is much taller than McCain.
I'd love to get all political here, but the rules of Mousebuzz don't allow for that, and certainly not in the Theme Parks forum.

Fair enough. It is a shame it will be closed in Dec. We were was looking forward to seeing it. It was an attraction we missed last two times around.

I guess the trade off is they refurb'd the Country Bears.

I'd have to back check the daily calendar and also look at the list of refurbs to know when HoP officially closes for the "refurb" or shall we say, update and reset.
Which brings up a new issue for me. I guess I'll have to make a stop at HoP when we're in WDW next Saturday through 10/24 for one last look at the current version.

Update: The calendar says HoP closes on Nov. 1 and it looks like it's going to remain closed through the end of April. So, now we know how long it takes to build a president and reset the show. Six months, more or less.

I thought I read someplace that with the rehab, Lincoln will be the only one speaking from now on. I tried to find where I read it, but I can't find it. Anyone else hear this?

Yes, I read that also. Something about crowd reaction to different speakers.

Yeah, that was in there too. So I know I wasn't dreaming again.

Does anyone know aside from new presidents, have there been any other changes over the yrs? We have seen it dozens of times over 24 yrs and it wasn't until a few yrs ago I noticed the other presidents would turn and nod as the names are spoken.
