5 months pregnant in Disney

Well just got the good news that we are expecting our 3rd mouseketeer. We had planned a trip in late Oct, but may move it to the end of September, since I will be 5 months pregnant then. Any insight or advice on what I will be able to ride, tips for pregnant moms, etc?

Congratulations Sleeping Beauty!!! That is awesome news!:) :)
Well, you definatly can't ride, SpaceMountain, Big Thunder or Splash Mountain, or ExxtraTerrorestrial. Everything else as long as it does not have big bumps, drops and crashes should be fine.
WDW is very good about posting signs that say what you should not ride if you are pregnant.
Just be careful of the heat...not sure if you are in FL or not, but it is still hot here in September. Drink lots of water, take lots of breaks and dress comfortably :)

Congratulations to you! I was there when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant in August...it was sooooo hot, and I was sooooooo uncomfortable!!! I also had a very bad back and could not walk AT ALL...it was so bad that I had to get a wheelchair some days. Good luck to you, and definitely keep yourself hydrated.

My very first trip to Disney was when I was 5 mo. preganant! Congratulations to you!:D My doctor just told me to get out of the car every few hours and walk around on the trip down. Take it easy and rest, let everyone pamper you!:heart You can probably easily tell what you can ride. I can't forget how disappointed I was the HM was closed on my trip-one of the things I could have ridden. If I were you and your feet swell I would get a wheelchair.

Congrats Sleeping Beauty:D .....My wife was also 5 months pregnant with our son when went to WDW ( he's 13 now & looking forward to his fifth WDW trip in a few weeks). We made sure we knew where all the bathrooms were  and kept my wife hydrated and took breaks at the hotel pool. Good Luck.

what great news

I did visit when 8 month preg. He is the 4th child and he is now 9 yrs. old! It was hard to make it all day and I remember just holding my stomach and stopping when all of a sudden there would be a Disney helper to run and get me a wheelchair. That was the best thing. I also remember visiting right after the baby was born and using the beautiful MK baby center. It was all decked out at Christmas and had everything a mom could ever need. God willing, we will be in FL this weekend - it will be the first time we see the July 4th celebration at WDW. Time flies..so does DUMBO...#4 kiddo and I always make it our first ride of the day...I can't wait!

I was 4 months pregnant with my third when we went to DL two years ago. It wasn't that hot because it was California, but I still carried water bottles all the time. I brought two pairs of sneakers and one pair of very comfy sandals so I could switch every couple of days. I also carried graham crackers, oyster crackers and granola bars. I was very queasy from the pregnancy...but always starving!
I think you will be going at the prefect time. The second trimester is a great time for travel and most women feel their best. I did go on rides, but they were "kiddie" rides. There are so many great attractions, it won't matter if you miss out on a few of the hotter tickets!;)
Give your OBGYN or midwife a heads up regarding your plans...and have a MAGICAL vacation!:) Congratulations!

Congratulations!!:D I was 7 months pregnant in July 2001 when we were at WDW. The very best tip I can give you is buy one of those tummy support belts, it goes under your belly and across your back this really helps with your back if your going to be walking around all day. Other than that take lots of breaks, know where the bathrooms are, and make sure to drink your water. As for the rides you can basically go on anything that does not have a height restriction all of the rides with height restrictions also have pregnancy restrictions. Have fun at 5 months it shouldn't be bad, your belly will still be under control.:laugh

Congrats Sleeping Beauty...I am sure Prince Phillip is thrilled with the news...;)

I went to WDW 7 1/2 months pregnant with #3. I was fine, but it was Christmas time so it wasn't a good time for an off-balance preggo to be in a slam-packed park.

You will be going at a great time of the year - September or October. The crowds will have died down so people won't be an issue.

I would re-iterate what alextina said about the belly belt. I didn't find this until after we had returned from WDW, but it did a world of good just in day-to-day activities.

Good luck! We'll be looking forward to hearing about your planning... :)
