How bad are the crowds during Spring Break???
We will be going March 14th 2004. Just wondering if anyone else has been there during this time, and can tell me what they've experienced as far as crowds. How does it compare to Christmas or Summer??
Also, how's the weather?? Much rain? Thanks guys! ![]()

Crowds typically start to get a little bigger around mid-March as Spring Break approaches but I don't think you'll have any problems. The middle two weeks of April are the real busy ones. You won't find anything like the crowds of summer or at Christmas.
The temperature here in Orlando in March averages in the mid-70s -- quite enjoyable. March can sometimes be a little bit more rainy than the months surrounding it, but nothing like the downpours of summer. And you won't find any of the stifling summer humidity, either. All in all, you should have a very enjoyable time.

Spring Break is a little bit of a dice roll...
You'll definitely want to avoid Arpil 3 - April 18 in 2004 (the weeks before and after Easter). Anything before or after that should be fine. That said, late March last year Disney underforcasted the crowd level; the crowds were typical for the time of year, but Disney thought it would be less, and that made it seem more crowded than it really was. I would hope that won't happen again and I don't expect it will. When we go in late March, we typically have 1 super rainy day, and the rest of the days are fine. Temperature wise, we've seen mid-90's and mid-60's. You just can't be sure, but most of the time it should be in between. Bruce

I have been in the middle and late March and neither were as crowded as summer. This past year as Brumcg mentioned Disney just wasn't staffed enough and it seemed alot more crowded. It was much more crowded in mid-March this year than it was in Late March 4 years prior.
The best thing about March is weather!! I've been 3 times in March and always had super weather. It was a little warm this year but no humidity which makes it better. Both time prior it never got out of the low 80s and was sunny the entire time. We only had one episode of rain this year and it was a thunderstorm late in the afternoon because it was hot that day (like 90). We love MARCH at WDW and plan to go again Early March this time.

March visit
We have gone every year on our childrens spring break. March 10-15 (around that time) It is hot but not as bad as it gets in the summer months. We usually get one to two light showers while we are there for a week. We just put our ponchos on and keep on truckin. Some people leave when it starts raining. If you will hang out somewhere dry for a while the shower will stop and you can continue to ride with less people in line.
It is crowded but we rarely have to wait in line over 30 minutes. We usually get right on after maybe a 5 to 10 minute wait. Also we take our own food to eat for lunch. We eat at irregular times. So while everyone else is eating lunch we are riding rides.

My very first trip ever was over 20 years ago and it was in March. It was very crowded but that was in the days before they had 4 parks. I was so thrilled to be there I didn't even care about the crowds. The weather was great. I think it is a wonderful time to plan a trip.
