Early Entry (extra Magic Hour)

Does anyone know which days are EE at each of the parks? Does this change, or is it standard all year? I am not staying on-site when I go in August, and want to plan my days accordingly...and avoid the park with the EE that day!

Early Entry is back, but with a new name and new days. The new Extra Magic Hour replaces the character caravan from October 1, 2002.

Each day, one park opens 1 hour earlier for Disney Resort guests.
So if the Magic Kingdom is scheduled to open at 9am on a Sunday, it will be open to resort guests from 8am.

Guests who can take advantage of the early opening must be staying in one of the onsite Disney-owned hotels, Swan, Dolphin or the Hilton at Lake Buena Vista.

Monday - Animal Kingdom
Tuesday - Disney-MGM Studios
Wednesday - Epcot
Thursday - Magic Kingdom
Friday - Animal Kingdom
Saturday - Disney-MGM Studios

Early Entry was a perk enjoyed by Disney Resort guests for years, until September 2001, when it was suddenly replaced by the 'Character Caravan'. Disney said it was responding to guests, who had apparently said they wanted to see more characters, and early entry wasn't that popular. Guests were up in arms about the changes, and it looks like Disney have finally listened properly and reinstated this perk.

Expect the park which opens early to be busier on that day.

In Magic Kingdome only Tomorrow and Fantasy Lands are open during EE so I would guess you should have no problem with Mickey Philharmagic or Mission:Space.

Can you go in early if you are staying onsite in a different resort? Or is it only those three?

Jen, any of the Disney owned resorts (ie. All-Stars, Port Orleans, etc...), any of the Downtown Disney Hotels or the Swan and Dolphin. I think that is about 26 hotels in total. Where are you staying, that may answer the question?

All-Star Movies is one of the Disney owned resorts, so you are fine for early entry. E-Ride nights at the Magic Kingdom are announced only a couple of months in advance, and are usually only during the busier seasons, such as summer or Spring break. Just watch the front page for future announcements.
