Your Top 3 Best and Worst Rides at Disney and Universal...
Hey everyone. I thought this would be fun, and since I'm heading back to WDW/Universal soon, I figured it was appropriate.
So, post your top three best and worst attractions/rides. Also, post a short description on why you like it or dislike it. It can be a new, old, short, or long ride. Doesn't matter. But, be sure you don't reveal any spoilers of the rides in your description, however :D I'll start: DISNEY: Top 3 Best Rides/Attractions... 1. Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular Show --I just love it, and always have. Although some may say it gets boring after going again and again, which it can, I just love the spectacle of it all. 2. Test Track --It's new, but I think it's just a very innovative ride that really creates a strong illusion regarding speed. It's just a thrill. 3. The Great Movie Ride --Although some, again, may say it gets boring the more times you do it (kinda with any ride, really), this one is always fun since I love movies. And the "thing(s)" that happens regarding the tour guide(s) is always fun to witness. And, for some reason, still, after eight trips and countless rides, I still get worried when I hear the announcer of the vehicle say, "This is Alien: You are with Sigourney Weaver. One by one, the crew has disappeared. REMAIN IN YOUR SEAT... Still creeps me out. I'll be sad to see this this one go. Personally, I think changing this ride is in the same context of changing Pluto's name to "Rex." I looked at "The Great Movie Ride" as the single most recognized attraction/landmark relating to Disney, right behind Cinderella's Castle in Magic Kingdom (but, maybe I'm wrong on that). I know things don't last forever, but to me, this is a shame. Anyone know when they plan to remove/remodel it? Top 3 Worst Rides/Attractions... 1. Tiki Room --It was in Magic Kingdom, and just recently got the AX two years ago, more or less. It was horrible. The only thing good about it was that it protected you from the sun. It needed to go. 2. Small World --I think it was a good idea, but after two minutes, I just lose interest. The moving characters aren't much to look at, and the ride moves very slowly and is actually quite long. Much more for the young ones. 3. Human Body --Every year I insist on riding this ride, and every year I come back disliking it more and more. I used to love it, but now, I don't feel like I'm "there" anymore. It just doesn't sell me the illusion of it all like Star Tours and Back to the Future. I don't think this is the worst ride, at all, but I just think it needs a little help. UNIVERSAL: Top 3 Best Rides/Attractions... 1. Spider-Man --I've only been on this ride once, when the park was only half done, and I can already say this is one of the best rides I've ever been on. Some may think I'm saying that only because it was new to me, but this ride is one of the most ingenious I've experienced. Combining movements on your vehicle and 3-D images, the Spider-Man ride is simply amazing. 2. Terminator 2: 3-D --This is another that has to be seen to be believed. They really go all out with this attraction. This one combines live stage-like action with a 3-D movie to create quite an experience. 3. ET --Back to the Future (ride) used to be in my Top 3, but I think some of the magic is gone once you watch the same movie on that screen while in the car a dozen of times. And, while BTTF is in my top 10 of all rides in Disney and Universal, ET is one I still enjoy simply due to the sets and the feeling of flight. Top 3 Worst Rides/Attractions... 1. Jurassic Park --This ride isn't bad, per se, but I was just extremely disappointed with it, and it could've been much better. The gist of it is that you are on a raft/small boat, taking a tour through JP, and then things go wrong. Nice concept, like the movie, but it feels empty. There was no water-like tour in the movie, so why create one for the ride? That'd be like having King Kong attack San Fran or helping ET escape in a canoe. Why change the formula? I can see the understanding in doing so: to make the ride more exciting. The problem, at least with me, is that the ride falls flat. I won't give anything away, but it would've been a better concept if people gathered in a open JP replica styled car, and RODE through JP. Maybe even like the Safari type ride in Animal Kindom. Can you imagine over the PA system in the car, "Remain seated, and do not move. The T-Rex has escaped! I repeat, the T-Rex HAS escaped! Please remain seated and calm." All the sudden, you hear the rumblings of the T-Rex, and you look behind you, and he's there (almost like the Dinosaur ride), and your car has to outrun him like the famous scene from the movie. I don't know, just an idea. Suffice it to say I wasn't too thrilled. 2. Twister --Another ride/attraction that they simply could've done more with. I didn't want to watch the twister happen, I wanted to experience it. Stick me in a vehicle, and let's try to outrun the storm, but end up getting caught in the thick of it, wind blowing everywhere, things crashing around us, etc. If I wanted to watch it, I'd pop in the DVD. I wanted to experience the movie, which is why I go to Universal. 3. Men in Black: the ride --Again, it's just disappointing to me. I couldn't tell if I was hitting my targets, and it just seemed aimed more towards kids, which is odd considering most of the rides there are for teens and adults. But, even so, I just didn't enjoy it that much. I'll try it again, however. Well, those are my choices. What do you think of what I picked? Do you agree or disagree? Why? I'm curious to know, and I also want to know your top three choices. |

Top 3 at WDW:
1-Spaceship Earth-I just love hearing Walter Kronkite's descriptions as you journey through time 2-It's not a ride, but Divequest in Epcot is the best experience. If you're a certified diver, you gotta try it 3-ToT- it's just great Bottom 3 1-Dumbo-my kids love it, but it's just boring 2-Tea Cups-I can do this at the Jersey shore 3-can't think of one Top 3 at Universal 1-Spidey. It's the most thrilling ride in Orlando 2- Terminator 3-D. I'll be back 3-Dr. Doom's Fearfall. It's ToT in reverse Bottom 3 1-It's gone now, but Murder She Wrote-I just didn't see the point 2-Twister. Just a lot of wind 3-King Kong. It's outdated

Worst 3 in Disney (in reverse)
#3 Morrocco exhibit in Epcot: There's nothing there but rugs and pottery...couldn't they have done something more with this? #2: The Making Of Me in Epcot: I don't like Martin Short very much, and I'm bored with this movie #1: Tomorrowland Speedway in MK: I'd like if I was 4-7, but for anyone that can drive this is slow, the cars poke along, and the smell is almost enough to make me faint. Best 3 in Disney #3: Aerosmith Rock 'N Roll Coaster (A blast of a coaster that screams 3x faster than Space Mountain) #2: Tower of Terror: An excellent theme, and an awesome drop ride #1: Splash Mountain: The longest and best-themed flume ride I have ever been on, hands down. Worst 3 in Universal #3: Pteranadon Flyers (Boo, I'm to big to ride it and don't have any kids to sneak on it with me!). #2: Sinbad show: I just don't like it for some reason #1: Lucille Ball Tribute: Very dated and has limited appeal for anyone under 45. Best 3 in Universal #1: Spiderman 3-D: The coolest ride in Florida that I've ever experienced. #2: Incredible Hulk Coaster: The first 20 seconds is a rush #3: Dudley Do Right Ripsaw Falls: A pretty serious drop, and a cool themed flume ride (doesn't touch Splash Mountain though). |

The Best at WDW
1. Splash Mountain - I love the theme and that last fall. 2. Tower of Terror - It's just plain old fun. 3. Pirates of the Caribbean - A classic.:) The worst at WDW 1. Tiki Room - boring. No more, I like the rest. The Best of Universal: Now I haven't been there since Island of Adventure opened, so my answers are based only on the original park: 1. Terminator - Great special affects. 2. Back to the Future - made me fill a little ill but overall a great ride. 3. Earthquake (I believe that's what is was called.) The worst at Universal: 1. King Kong - A very long long line for a boring ride. 2. Jaws - Ditto. Can't think of any more. |

I really dont' have a worst at disney, there are just some rides i choose not to go on. most of the fantasyland rides i dont' go on because i dont want to waste my time. if mr toad's was still there, i would go on that, but otherwise, i usually stay away from fantasyland. my favorites are:
1. Tower of Terror i think it's one of, if not the best disney attraction ever created. 2. Splash Mountain. Back in 96 i went and it was the first year i got to ride tot and splash mountain, so it always brings back good memories. 3. Monorail it's not techinically an "attraction", but i always loved riding the monorail. It's one of my all time favorites and i must ride every time i'm there. As for universal, the worst would be: 1 Twister it's ok, but the first time i did it i thought it would be something more, and i felt let down. 2. Earthquake too short of a ride. Not worth waiting in line for 3. Kong pretty much the same explanation as earthquake. Favorites 1. the Hulk just an amazing ride. nothing like it. 2. Spider man also an amazing ride. An amazing experience. 3. Dueling Dragons the near misses are incredible, and usually you can ride it several times in a row. |

This isn't going to be easy
OK, you said "Disney", not WDW, so here goes:
Top 3 Disney: 1. Matterhorn Disney's first roller coaster, and one of the best in the entire country. Still has that rough ride, you get great views and it seems fast though it isn't. 2. Tower of Terror Pure Disney evil. By the time you figure out the drop sequence, they change it. 3. Tie between Soarin' Over California and California Screamin'! Soarin' is pure Disney magic. I was so thrilled after riding it, mostly because it reconfirmed to me that Disney can still build fantastic rides. They "need" this at WDW! California Screamin' is Rock 'N' Roller Coaster on steroids. It is outside, but it is more than twice as long, and seems much faster. Worst 3 Disney: 1. Living Seas Dated ride that was boring when new. 2. Body Wars Should be sponsored by a carpet cleaning company. Highest number of pukes per rider in all of WDW. 3. Speedway thingie Long lines, slow cars and I am always stuck behind a little kid that can't reach the peddle so they are creeping along the entire ride. By the way, why do they make those peddles so hard to push down? Best 3 Universal: I have only been to IOA, so that is what this is based on: 1. Spiderman: nothing like it in the world. 2. Dueling Dragons: WOW! 3. The Cat in the Hat ride: What the pooh ride should have been. |

Favorites:
1) Tower of Terror: The first time through - from the sight of the building, waiting in line, the pre-show, the whole theming, and the ride itself just blew me away. The real trick? I still feel exactly the same way. 2) Fantasmic: Hey, why are all these people lined up? It's only 7:30 for a 9:00 show! I'm not a fan of Illuminations, so I really wasn't thrilled about standing in line 90 minutes for a "fireworks" show; I couldn't be more wrong. I would literally pay park admission just to see Fantasmic. 3) Rock and Roller Coaster: A close call here... I've been on bigger "thrill" coasters before, but the theming of R&R makes it better than other parks. Least favorite... 1) Tomorrowland Speedway: It has zero magic... 2) Astro Orbiter: Take Dumbo and put it on top of something? I'm not a Dumbo fan, but Astro Orbiter is actually worse. 3) Mad Tea Party: At 37 years old, spinning is not a good thing... Add a 10 year old to the mix...ooooh, that's a bad combination! Primeval Whirl has a real chance to join this list. "Wild Mouse" coasters scare me to death; don't ask... I haven't done the Universal thing yet... Bruce |

Good Topic...
Ok, that's a tough one, but I'll do my best here.
Best in WDW 1.Tower of Terror-Great special effects, great themeing, cool ghosts, and the seat-belt seat, what's not to love? 2.Rock-n-Rollercoaster-Great music, 3 inversions, cool ride vehicles, cool themeing (G-Force Records, very clever) just a great ride. 3.Haunted Mansion-It's an oldy but a goody. The special effects are still pretty good, I love the ballroom. A classic. Worst in WDW 1.It's A Small World-Terrible music that sticks in your mind like walking in an seeing your Grandmother in the shower, not to mention that the Dolls are EVIL!!!!!!! :devil 2.Not really a ride, but the Swiss Family Treehouse. Wake me when your through... 3.It's A Small World-So bad, I had to say it twice. Did I mention that the Dolls are EVIL!!!!!!!!? :devil Best at Universal(I've only been to IOA) 1.Dueling Dragons-This is a great coaster, but ride in the very front seat, and it's even better. 2.Spiderman-Truly great special effects, plus, Spiderman is just cool!:D 3.Hulk Coaster-Just a great coaster. Lot's of inversions, cool story. Tons of fun. Worst at Universal 1.Dudley Do-Right-It has a great drop at the end, but the rest of the ride is just bad... 2.Jurrasic Park-Not really a bad ride, I just expected so much more and was a little disappointed. 3.I can't think of a third, since I've only been to Islands of Adventure.
