Worst Park in WDW
MGM is the worst park purely because I find most everything except Rock n' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror extremely boring. After you've been to MGM once and seen all the shows, the only reason to go back would be those two rides. (which are the best in WDW by the way). Especially Indiana Jones. It is the exact same thing every time and after you've seen it once there is no reason to see it again. So I guess it's a paradox. Two of the best rides in WDW in the most boring park.

I have to look at it from another angle. My son is only 2, so I am very limited on attractions I can take him on at MGM. I don't think he knows the difference between the parks. He loves them all. MGM has come along way since it opened.

I'm going with Animal Kingdom
Although many people feel that MGM doesn't have a lot to offer, I think it a well-thought out park and definitely has that Disney Magic. I love it there at Christmas. This past year when we were at MGM during NY's, it was spectacular! We didn't want to leave and it was packed - which we hate!
Animal Kingdom, on the other hand, I find is a poorly planned, thrown together park that they needed to open in order to boost their Orlando presence. It has come along since it first opened but I still don't feel that Magical experience when I am there. There isn't much to do either. Yes, the new stuff in the dinoland is good, but the spinning dinos are just a rip off of Dumbo - without being special. It is almost like that area is set up as a glorified carnival. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE anything Disney. I just think they dropped the ball with AK.:(

It's a tossup for me, between AK and MGM. MGM has more rides, but it's been around longer, consequently I've seen and done the things at MGM more times. AK is newer, and is aesthetically more pleasing to me. Still, if you gave me the choice of doing one and only one of those two parks, I'd pick MGM just for TOT and Rockin Rollercoaster. Hopefully AK will catch up in the future by adding something more interesting than carnival rides in Dinoland!

My ranking is #1-Magic Kingdom, #2-Epcot, #3-Animal Kingdom and #4 MGM Studios....except for the X-mas holidays when I'd flip-flop Animal Kingdom and MGM Studios. Bottom line: I like MGM the least because like another entry stated, the only can't miss rides (for adults) is the TOT and the Aerosmith Coaster.

Most people don't appreciate exactly what MGM has to offer. There is a lot to do there, just not as much in the way of rides.
My ranking in 1) Magic Kingdom 2) Epcot 3) MGM 4)Animal Kingdom And does anybody know if MGM is going to be changing their name? I head once that the real MGM was revoking disney's license and that the theme park MGM would become 'Walt Disney Studios'. I even saw shirts in the stores with that printed on them. E P C O T V E O U I E R M T R R S E E Y O S D N ...read this somewhere -Chris |

I would think that it will happen sometime. If you noticed that the new park in Paris was named "Walt Disney Studios Park". MGM has been in such flux since the opening of the park that there has always been a possibility that the new owners would not want the name associated with the park. I would guess that oneday soon it will change to Walt Disney Studios. With the rumored remodelling of the Great Movie ride, there wouldn't be much left that would tie MGM with the park. |

Wouldn't it be great
I think it would be a great idea for the Great Movie Ride to be all Disney movies! :)

Mickey,
What have you heard is being done to the Great Movie Ride? That ride is a classic!! When I think of Disney I think of that ride. It's in my top ten, probably even top five rides. Why on earth would they mess with it? What have you heard, and when does the re-modeling start/end? |

Actually, the Great Movie Ride is the only thing tying Disney to MGM. It is also a very tired ride, and in need of a makeover. With the construction of the giant sorcerer hat, the GMR is no longer the first thing you see when you come into the park, and is no longer the park's "icon". There are two paths that Disney is considering right now, and they may have decided already, but no announcement has been made.
The first would be a simple makeover of the ride, and include all Disney films. It would basically be the same ride, only all Disney. The second option would be for a complete overhaul of the building and ride into a CAVE simulator ride. This is the same technology that is used on the Spiderman ride in IOA, and similar to the Dinosaur! technology, but much more advanced. It would feature one or more of the Disney villians, and would definitely fill the need for an additional e-ride for MGM. I guess the other option would be to simply update the ride as is, and include a few newer films throughout, and update the ending. It will be interesting in the next few months to see how this progresses. |

I dont think any of the parks are the worst .. I think they are all wonderful .. AK and MGM/Studios are still young parks and will continue to grow. As to the GMR, its special to us because it was the first ride on our first trip to WDW. I do think it would be neat to add movies like Con Air and Armmaggedeon in to it.
