next ed of uoff guide/ticket upgrades
Hi - we're heading for disney again in late august (last time summer '98).
Couple of questions 1) I thought Bob Sehlinger's Unofficial Guide was published/updated 3 times per year - the newest I can find is August 2001 - and I can't find his website - any ideas on how to find a newer edition (or when it will be available?) 2) I have one day of park hopper tix from '98, but 2 are for 'child 3-9' and my kids are now older. I hear rumor that they can be upgraded (the tix, not the kids), any idea where I can get more info? thanks /j |

well - thanks, but I wanted to read about the new ticketing system (where you get a ticket and comeback later), any new rides, 2002 park changes, any new disincentives the Mouse has put in place for the crime of staying off-park.
The local bookstore said a new edition was due in July, I'm going in Aug. are you sure about Sept? thanks! /j |

You are in luck. Most of that information you are looking for can be found right here on DisneyCentral. Just browse the forum and you will find what you are looking for. According to Frommers, the publishers of the book, they give this information about the 2002 version: Retail Price: $16.99 Status: Available ISBN: 0-7645-6421-8 Publication Date: 8/2001 Pages: 816 My recolection from last year is that it didn't hit Amazon.com until the first week of September. The 2002 version has all of the information you are looking for, with the exception of the security issues, since it was published prior to September 11. I will let you know if I can find anything else out. |

Regarding the children's tickets: we encountered this, too. Just bring your tickets to guest services at whatever park you are visiting first. They will let you turn in those tickets and credit the remaining day(s) to new tickets that they'll issue to you. Of course, you will have to pay the price difference. I t only takes a few minutes though.
