Article describing Primeval Whirl

I ran accross this article in the Orlando Sentinel that gives a good description of the new Primeval Whirl in Animal Kingdom.

Disney's dinosaur ride is tame

Disney World's Animal Kingdom has opened a new ride that is tamer than a thriller coaster but with more action than, say, the slow-moving boats of It's a Small World.

The new attraction, Primeval Whirl, is a coaster all right, but it reaches a top speed of only about 25 miles mph. Primeval Whirl has 13 cars on two tracks that navigate through flying asteroids and -- in the words of Disney's press release -- "corny depictions of dinosaurs that spin and pop up along the track."

The spinning coaster takes guests on a wacky time warp back to the prehistoric era on a twisting track of tight loops and short drops. A meteor shower sends guests spinning out of control along the track with a final descent into the gaping jaws of a giant dino fossil.

Guests must be at least 4 feet tall to board the ride in Chester & Hester's Dino-Rama area of DinoLand U.S.A. at the park.

Primeval Whirl is the 24th Disney's fastpass attraction. The fastpass system allows guests to bypass the actual line and better plan their day in the four theme parks. Disney's fastpass is free and available to all guests with a valid theme park pass.

I've never been afraid to ride anything at Disney... Sure maybe a tad apprehensive about Tower of Terror, but that's a good thing.

"Wild Mouse" type of coasters, though, scare me to death! We went on one at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, and I was convinced that the car was going to derail when it went whipping around those sharp u-turns and I'd plummet to my death. Even I have to admit that I must have been a hilarious sight...

I'll ride the Whirl at least once, but that's all I'm promising! ;)

Well I like the wild mouse rides, so I'm looking forward to trying it out this June. I think I'll skip the Dino ride discussed in the other thread though, I hate things jumping out at me.:)
