Re: Space Mountain?

A Stitch theme? We'll be down in early December with a first timer, so I hope it will be open.

Sorry the Stitch thing was just a joke! There will be no character theming, still good ol' Space Mountain. (I certainly hope anyway! )

Whew. I don't even like the Stich ride thing. What are they doing to it, anyway?

It is getting the update that the Disneyland Space Mountain got a few years ago: it will be darker, more special effects, etc. It's very cool - adds to the excitement and makes it better than ever, but doesn't change the original theme!

Re: Space Mountain?

I've heard the following:

1. Enclosed Queue (no more preview of the top of the dome prior to boarding the ride) - this also makes the ride portion darker than before
2. Interactive elements added to the Queue through the mountain
3. On ride photo added
4. Loading Gates added
5. No soundtrack
6. Enhanced special effects throughout.

So, there you go.. not as complete an overhaul as originally planned, but some descent updates. Naturally, the money had to play a factor of photo opp vs sound system. lol Plus, you got all the outside work going on to remove the sky ride loading area and the repaint and the new lighting on the People Mover.

Re: Space Mountain?

I was wondering what all that mess was. The whole front walkway of the building is sectioned off and tore up. I've always remembered one end of the skyway, the one next to IASM but never the one in TL.

Re: Space Mountain?

They were painting this weekend in there.. I have pictures somewhere... I will try to post later. They had all the lights on when we rode the peoplemover (TTC for you young'ins)... Which by the way- they would not let me stay on and ride again... and it was not that busy... what's up with that.

Back to Space Mountain- there were signs all in it that said that it was reopening Winter 2009, and it smelled like paint in there... I saw a painter too... They were still working on the outside though..

Re: Space Mountain?

While we are talking about Stitch, wouldn't be better to have Lilo and Stitch in the Tiki Room then that annoying pushy bird brain from Aladdin...
